My #IntelliJ workshop sometimes vexes me, nay, all the time. I always complete one session, and then afterward, I learn something new or negate a statement I made during the workshop. I said there is no use creating a project in IntelliJ because most are done by the build tool, but now it seems wrong. I didn't realize how many great options there are for creating a project correctly without resorting to "IntelliJ only" projects.

When they say #SchoolChoice they don't mean for everyone. When it comes to obtaining University access and getting a hand they will now refuse to do so knowing that they do everything in their power to keep minorities down. Like keeping minorities from registering in better school districts. Underfunding minority schools. And cutting programs.

The "toots" of #Scala features that you are seeing is because I am updating much of my material. In this episode. Trait parameters. Traits are analogous to Java interfaces but sprinkled with power. Trait parameters are an element of that power and are a way to plug in parameters onto those traits so that way you can set the state as you mix it into a class.

More #Scala 3 craziness with PhantomTypes and extensions. The phantom type is a parameterized type you don't construct, but you can use it as a marker on the "left-hand" side. One of the use cases is to ensure that your type is in a certain state. In the Scasite link, I use LightPhantomType to indicate whether a light switch is on or off. The extension ensures turnOn will only be viable if the light is on, and turnOff will only show if the light is on.

The combination of #Scala version 3 and #Typelevel #Cats and #Kittens is pretty neat. "Kittens" is a library that has derived type classes for Cats. I just learned about Kittens yesterday. "Kittens" uses #Shapeless libraries underneath.
