@dmoren I’m so conflicted with this stuff, especially with the camera example you give. I take waaaay more photos with my iPhone than with my camera, but I like the photos taken with my camera waaaay more. The iPhone’s smarts are incredible, and I think the right choices so I capture SOMETHING… and yet I don’t LOVE the very-processed, crispy look I get from the iPhone.

@dmoren Why they don't update info automagically is beyond me! Isn't this a NORMAL credit card feature? To update the new exp and 3-digit-number automatically?
Twenty-five years ago yesterday, several pals and I were at the midnight debut of The Phantom Menace. The next morning we woke up (having slept at my friend’s house) to find that we were on the front page of The Boston Globe. About seven hours later we went to see it again. (My friend Evan never lets me live down the fact that only he was named despite me being most prominently in the picture!)
Sugar, on Apple TV+, is one of the weirdest shows I have watched in a while. I think I really enjoyed it? I have no idea who to recommend it to, but if you like stuff that's kind of different, check it out.
@gruber@dmoren 100% this. Watching Sugar reminds me how hard it is to watch a procedural that isn’t drenched in cynicism … and isn’t Lasso. I just forget how to classify it.
Not going to lie: lately I’ve been wondering if any of my work—podcasting, books, tech writing—is really reaching people. But it’s all worth it on those days when some random listener sends an email out of the blue to tell me just how much I’ve affected them.

@dmoren Happy to see Logic/Mac isn’t a sub (yet). Less happy that Apple appears to think it’s OK for everyone to buy a keyboard that costs as much as an iPad every time they buy a new iPad Pro.
