Have been known to meticulously edit photos to create something fantastical, but quite often just scribble on things.

It's very warm today, so I escaped into the woods in search of shade. It was green and lush and lovely.

Every time I've opened my 'in progress' file for the last three days this has been facing me. It has undergone many tweaks, and is still not quite right, but I have run out of tweaks. In a different frame of mind I would delete, but today it feels mean, so I am declaring it to be finished. Whatever it is, it is very pleased to meet you.

Went out for a walk. Was admiring the beautiful colour of the trees, and when I finally found my phone to grab a snapshot was scenically photo-bombed by the local corvid gang.

@aronow Oooh, we didn't get a wish, but the number of blows it took to clear all the seeds away was meant to tell you the time. I like that there are different stories about them!

I fear it was not a hugely reliable method of timekeeping.

@morph I'm wondering if it's very geographically targeted. I'm glad in the original post I edited my original "blow on a dandelion clock" to seed head, as I would definitely have made even less sense than normal to quite a few people.

@LaimesKudikis Oh fluffs is a very good name. Someone else mentioned making a wish too.

We would blow on them, and count how many blows it took for all the seeds to go, and that was the time!

I don't think we ever made wreaths from dandelions, but we did make daisy chains.

@morph That's an interesting point, if some varieties are easier to disperse it would always be 1 o'clock, and what use is that?!

I don't ever recall being reprimanded for being late as a result, but I suspect I was suspicious of its accuracy even at a young age 😆

@Drarok ooh, it's getting complicated now, as we definitely have some examples of people from the midlands using it (we are talking very small sample mind you, and there will be generational impact on it). I might have to try and narrow it down with a more nuanced poll next time I post a dandelion pic!

Getting some great alternative names though; Fluffs and Windy Puffs 😍

It's Friday! Woo! It's been an unusual week and I nearly forgot 🤦‍♀️

Anyhow, week 50 of the dancers and, as ever, I hope you all have a fine weekend if you possibly can 😀

Hand drawn animation loop. There are 50 simple figures each doing their own dance move. The main body of the screen is a red starburst sky, with a rainbow framing the top. 47 dancers are on the lines of the rainbow, doing their thing. The new dancer for this week is larger, and centre stage on a cloud at the bottom, with a dancer either side for company.
