BTyson, to random

I love having multiple phones because it allows me to test multiple versions of iOS. I've been extensively testing iOS 17 which has been a lot of fun. But I have another phone which can't run iOS 17 so have been beta testing 16.6. And it seems really, really good. This is a weird question I know, but is anyone else testing 16.6 or is everyone basically just on 17? To me, I notice what feels like a lot of general polish to issues that had been there for a long time in 16. Thoughts?

@BTyson that sounds about right. With all the trouble I had with my phone getting all messed up a couple of weeks ago, I lost track. Basically, my home screen got screwed up enough to warrant an iCloud restore I’ll because I tried to shift the position of an app.

@BTyson basically, I tried to put an app back on the home screen that apps got chucked into the app library, and it decided didn’t want to shove it in a folder, which I did not tell it to do. When I tried yanking it out and putting it in its proper place, it started shoving everything into folders and utterly messed up my entire screen, and the more I tried to fix it, the worse it got.

@BTyson oh, neat. I’m still on Apple’s case with the Apple TV because they’ve been utterly ignoring the most obnoxious bug ever since September.

@BTyson I’ve got audio recordings, which I have submitted through Feedback assistant. I have sent emails to the accessibility line, and I have reported in every place I can report until the report button is blue in the face. Weirdly enough, it only seems to affect the US English ones, but the other variance can’t pronounce Alex Trebek’s name properly, which annoys me and is, therefore a Nogo.

@kev I’m not working because of a bunch of bigots, and they expect me to pay this money back that I wouldn’t have taken had my computer and not been literally about to fall apart when I started college, with no guarantee, the state would be able to get me a new one

@hannah_renee_11 I wouldn’t of taken them in the first place had the state been able to guarantee getting me a new computer at the time. Mine was about to fall apart.

@hannah_renee_11 actually they said they didn’t want it back. I asked when I graduated. They definitely wouldn’t want it back now considering it doesn’t even work. Half the hardware went out months ago. That’s why I’m using an ancient system.

Maybe this shouldn’t hurt so much, considering I don’t personally know 99% of these people, but when you have people in your life that don’t support your biggest dream and a group of total strangers do, it really hurts to just leave them. Then again, a lot of things hurt me that really shouldn’t.

@rooktallon I know that. I have taken the test four times. It’s just there are a bunch of idiots in my life that are constantly making me feel like dirt and telling me I’m wasting my life, which wouldn’t be an issue if I could just get the heck away from them.

Good morning Mastodonians, the bear is early on the square today. My word what a mountain I had to climb, didn't look on here at all yesterday because I felt too rough. No sympathy though, it was completely self inflicted. Anyway I'm all caught up now. I'm reading a book Brian recommended called At the Captain's Table. It's a weird thing. There are people in it I really can't bear, but I'm interested enough to find out what happens in the end. Go figure. Have a great day all.

@lulu_bear @ChocolatePie @amorphisbear if you’re talking about the thing where you have to chase down the eggs and crack them a bazillion times to get the characters to pop out, I’ve personally never had a problem with it, but I’m also just one person
