For a work project it seems we will have to implement a library for building/evaluating ODRL statements. Since I haven't previously started such a parser library project, I would like suggestions on projects I could look at for inspiration in

  • Ease of use in interfaces
  • Test structure
  • Generally nice code

Please post links to projects you think are nice to use. Oh, and please boost for bigger reach.

So, a question for all , , , people.

I want to setup a netboot setup that boots into a menu of a lot of OS installers. How would you set that up? Right now, the only thing that seems to do what I want is iVentoy, but I was wondering if I have other options.

@ainmosni Just regular pxeboot with tftp. Building the menu and adding installers is easy. IIRC... ;-)

I was a bit bored today and thought I'd record a few sequences while playing on my synths. Nothing special, just messing around. The bass comes from the Poly-D, arps from the M32, drums from the DFAM, and a Drone + Pianoteq from Bitwig. I havent saved it, just a throwaway jam.

As many people, I tend to struggle with , especially things that are sent to me by physical post.

Yesterday @excds pointed me to https://github.com/paperless-ngx/paperless-ngx, and I installed it and first impression is that it looks amazing.

I fed it a few scans of mail, and it OCRed it. So now I can:

  • Search my snailmail.
  • Copy and paste from snailmail.
  • Tag my snailmail.

Next up is to make my scanner automatically upload scans to a directory it monitors.

This is huge for me.

@Doomed_Daniel @foosel @ainmosni I have a Brother MFC-L3770CDW that has a document feeder that can scan 50 double-sided pages at once. And It Just Works. I can drop in a bunch of papers and click "scan to network" (I have a network share that paperless checks) and it just shows up in paperless.

Today's writing task: first-draft a scene with a plausibly silly supervillain attack in the centre of Birmingham for Bob to get caught up in, complicated by the presence of Youtube influencers (it's 2015) and folks who are still in denial about the New Management (because magic isn't real). It's 10:30 and I am already getting a headache thinking about this scene ...
