"Libertarians are terrible weirdo anarchist lunatics", they say without acknowledging that the country's founders would agree with almost everything Libertarians stand for
Just saw a TV commercial for Victor Allen coffee which was a total surprise, haven't thought about it in years.
Victor Allen was a friend of our business partner and he'd bring in small batch roasts to share with us. He still came by while he was in the middle of battling cancer, like literally days before he died.
This is great, we've now created a culture where people think they can recognize AI generated text and are accusing anyone and everyone. It's a total leopard-ate-my-face situation.
The overreaction created mass panic and outrage and now we get to suffer through a stage of false accusations that will do nothing to impress skeptics
@mitchconner@PapaPole@jeffcliff@sun my personal opinion on the whole "emotional cheating" concept is that it's a fabricated guilt trip to make sure men never have any female friends, especially those who are single
so you're not allowed to ever talk to another female or get their perspective or share anything deemed personal or intimate with them or else it's "cheating"?
(and I don't think signing up for dating/hookup/cheating sites is "emotional cheating", it's just regular Intent To Cheat. Whether or not they're successful at cheating is a different discussion.)
edit: "why can't men and women be friends?" -- because of this stigma, really
This basically provides an API to jails, so I wonder how hard it would be to make it work with terraform. Could get a lot of renewed jail interest with that
@antranigv@feld this actually dredges up memories of a project I started called Hobo. I was building a manager for dev/test environments meant to replace Vagrant - basically one CLI tool that let you manage projects across your system. It used a light file db (bbolt) to store environments and you could interact with them anywhere (like standup another project to reference it from your current project without moving around)
I bet you I could reuse large portions of that abandoned project
@antranigv@feld I had written this entire profile system that would manage provider/provisioner (like aws+ansible for testing etc) that could probably be pretty easily adapted/rewritten for the concept of remotes + jails
@sun@feld Fantastic job. Have you seen some of the footage at the slaughterhouses? Or the testing done afterwards in the packaging factories? I saw one where they were supposed to test that the meat remained frozen and they didn't check the middle but to the side of it instead. Just to get the results they wanted. That's just standard practice for them. It all checked out, the worker did the required test! And all that raw meat left around, caught in the side of the machine ready to infect what else passes or left on the ground until workers can clean it up. No wonder they are breeding grounds for sickness.
If you want free water, buy land and drill a well. You deal with the capital expense and maintenance.
If you want free electricity, buy land and erect solar. You deal with the capital expense and maintenance.
Dreaming of a world where power utilities exist and somehow suffer through periods of negative prices is complete ignorance about how the energy markets even work. Or how long term capital projects and maintenance are funded. If the utilities aren't getting paid, banks aren't getting paid. And you're not going to like what happens next.
