Potentially controversial opinion on Lord of the Rings.
I used to really like the films (Fellowship and Two Towers anyway, RotK was a total yawnfest). I watched them again a little while ago (mostly because @Akeldama posted a pic of Viggo Mortensen looking tasty as Aragorn, if I'm honest).
To my surprise, I realised that they're crap. Cheesy exposition, terrible effects, some really shabby acting (lookin' at you, Orloondo Bland). Never again. #Films

It's not just the LotR movies. You've just described why I find a lot of very popular modern movies really hard to watch. They are so dumbed down, literally made for the broadest reach to the lowest common denominator.
The amount of blatant sexist small dick energy on display over the #Lionesses victory yesterday is breathtaking.
