Adding to my generalized morning worries is the latest signs of just how badly my industry is degrading. No one is unaffected. Feeling crushed between the "Just switch to Linux" sentiment I'm seeing and the entirely understandable backlash of "Don't tell me just to use Linux". Now with search engines too.

I have no other answers to offer. There are no simple answers left. The options seem to be accept hot garbage or figure it out entirely for yourself. Neither are great.

Weird morning so far.

  • Shot wide awake at 5:22 am for no discernable reason (thanks body/brain)
  • Pointlessly tried to go back to sleep.
  • Gave up and got up to clear away the work inbox
  • Got a message from a former student of mine I haven't heard from in several years

I think this will need to be remedied with some and sprints today.

  1. Wake up to an on call alert.
  2. Spoiled wet cat food explodes in my face.
  3. Family drama in group text messages won't stop rolling in.
