I guess people are chatting about Linux v Windows v Apple so for my two cents:

I have an older gaming laptop with a 2060 Nvidia graphics card that I’ve been running ubuntu on for years. It has a second hard drive running windows if I need it for some reason but I haven’t booted into it in 6+ months(I think?). In Linux I can run Steam and with Proton it plays Cyberpunk 2077, Baldur’s Gate 3, Persona 3 Reload, and many many more games without issue. /1

The PyOhio community recently lost a good friend. Craig Maloney passed away on April 2, two years after being diagnosed with stage four cancer. He was a stalwart supporter of PyOhio, having attended since the very first event in 2008. He presented multiple times over the years and continuously encouraged newcomers to participate, no matter their experience. PyOhio is forever better for having @craigmaloney as a part of the community, and he will be missed.

    My heart goes out to xz. A single maintainer, who was clearly in a rough place with mental health, screaming out to the world for some help and additional contributions, and somebody shows up wanting to help. Could you imagine how happy that maintainer was? They were no longer alone.

    And it turns out the only reason somebody wanted to help them was nefarious. I can’t imagine how they feel right now as everyone is blaming them. I hope they’re ok.
