Everything is always up in the air in Corvallis, Oregon. People around these parts are into goofing off, indeterminism, & not caring all that much about the social order. They plug away at their jobs during the day and play video games in the evening. This nonchalant attitude makes me incensed. It's gotten to the point where I don't even want to be in the same coffee shops and restaurants as these cliquish young people. I view their presentment as lacking hope. To me it means they have given up.

Spotify launches Countdown Pages for Audiobooks

"We’ve seen the success and momentum this can build for musical artists, and are excited to introduce it to authors and publishers as well."

@suswatibasu Until they let us copy/paste the liner notes for musicians, I personally don't care - not even a little - what Spotify does with Audiobooks or anything of theirs that processes text. Actions such as locking out text in the liner notes so you cannot re-use the text elsewhere is a total d*ckhead move on spotify's part. Next!

@suswatibasu spotify has written notes about the artists if info is available.

Every now and then I feel like reinstalling Linux on my laptop to another distro. But then I think that my laptop is the only computer in my household that works with our awful old HP printer, and it took me a long time to configure HPLIP and all that stuff, so I drop the idea to change anything.

iamnickops,
@iamnickops@fosstodon.org avatar

@stfn I'm on the spectrum. I used to think reinstalling an OS was like starting over in terms of conceptualizing how digital processes work. Now I'm more mature because I've learned to work with what I have.

Linux Magazine dedicates the cover and their main article of their latest issue to Plasma 6.

@linuxmagazine's 5000-word 8-page feature dives deep into why the version number jump (and why now), the current state of Plasma and KDE's ecosystem of apps and frameworks and what it has to offer, and the changes pushing KDE's software to new levels of efficiency, customization, and enhanced user experience.

    @GhostOnTheHalfShell The only problem I've noticed with Firefox is some pages like southwest[.]com don't display text properly. This could be a JavaScript or CSS issue within or through the parameters of the browser? I'm a little out of touch.

    Jack Smith goes straight to , blocking ’s ability to string out his DC trial on charges he attempted to overturn the election?

    Is a former president immune from prosecution “for crimes committed while in office”? Does a hung impeachment provide immunity from prosecution?

    “It took the high court just a few days to effectively decide the 2000 presidential election for Republican George W. Bush over Democrat Al Gore.”

    @kegill @Teri_Kanefield except Smith predicated his argument on trump being impeached but not convicted. This may cause complications in Smith’s anti-immunity argument, knowing this Court. They frequently give ex-Presidents the benefit of the doubt.

    @jacqueline Well, one problem I see with using this device is the majority of stuff out there nowadays aside from BandCamp and Ninjatune is the streaming media issue. One cannot use this with Spotify or Apple Music because those businesses don't let you download artists' tracks as mp3 or FLAC.

    The unprofessional behavior of some businesses in the PNW really gets to me. I'm trying to settle a debt with a landlord and they're taking their sweet time getting back to me. The old saying "The customer is always right" is long, long gone -- replaced by "F.U. - we'll do whatever the hell we want. Put up with it or get lost." Sometimes I cannot stand this inbred country with MAGA running around everywhere. The polarization has ruined both personal and professional perspectives alike.
