Whoever designed the successor to the Space Shuttle should get a medal. And at least six months at the nearest psychiatric hospital, too. This thing shouldn't possibly work, yet there she is, doing a vertical lift-off. She won't get to the moon like the president wanted (cheap bastard), but now all the private space companies are out of business. "Space is ours, again", the president said in a speech. No one understood what he meant at the time…

The candle deserving priest seems to have become one with the force by now, if what a friend from those days tell me is true. And I've been lazy to go to that damned school to investigate…=)

About the music listening, I'm not in that group (yet). At most I repeat a song a few times if it's one of my all time favorites, like Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. What I find funny about such "normal" people is the aplomb of their accusations, and that they can't tell me why is this wrong…=)

That's the fun part about this. They can't understand that I simply like to do this. I mean, I'm almost always listen to the main playlist, an abomination that includes music from Mozart to Marilyn Manson, for example, and that is criticized, too. But not like my "sick" habit of listening to a full album. And when I tell someone I sometimes listen from the CD, they flip. But I'm the madman, of course…=)

Please note that I'm not denying my insanity. I pride on it. Just that listening to the full Queen II album is NOT an evidence of it. Having more than one version of said album (and many, many others) might be…>=)

Same here. I love my Tough Mixes, but listening to a full album, from the time when artists didn't recorded "single collections" is a great experience…=)

I remember making mix tapes from the radio. There was a station here where the DJ gave a signal that let listeners know the next song would be played without "watermarks" so people could record them…=)

I wonder what I did with all those tapes? =?

In my case I bought that kind of bootlegs in a flea market near the city's center. You can still buy those, in casete, cd, or usb stick there…=)

Ah… to sail the high seas, with my parrot perched in my shoulder. I feel as if I haven't done that in hours…=)

Captain Kirk swore to NEVER cross through a anti-neutral-charged nebula again. Those things always mess up the Enteprise's systems. Every other starship can stay there for months and nothing bad happens. But them? Ha! When there isn't a mirror universe then there's a suddenly sentient computer, or another crewman gaining god-like powers. But transporter incidents are the worst. These clones won't stop with their horrible song and dance show…

I used to be a respected member of the community, and someone that could put the fear of god on them if needed, too. Then that crazy man-child in that Halloween costume came, and everything went to hell. "I'm Batman", he said, and now no one can go outside in the nights for the fear of him. "I am the law", he said, and everyone respected him. Ha! Even the clown is obsessed with him. Me? I'm happy working here in the fields and I have many feathered-friends…

One thing: while "Chingar" literally means "to fuck", the most common meaning is something like "To SUPREMELY annoy in an extreme way". Yet some of its derivatives can mean the most extreme compliments, as in the example mentioned. The strongest insult in Mexican Spanish, "Chinga tu madre", doesn't always mean "Go fuck your mother", but a very strong "Go bother someone else" =)

The aliens looked like a force sent from hell, like those the marines fought in that Martian base a few years ago. But these aliens didn't attack at first. They looked awful, sure, but their behavior was… peaceful? But, they invaded the marines ship, so they had to be destroyed. When the first one died, the rest of the aliens attacked. Everything ended up covered in blood. Even in the sales brochures and free samples the aliens had with them…

It was foretold in the Not-So-Alive Sea Scrolls. Nostrabamus, The Balls-of-Crystal Prophet wrote about it in his Dreams of Forgotten Tomorrows book. Mayans said that "When the sun goes black, a new sun will rise and They will come back to us". Or that's what the experts believe the Wall of Palenque says. But they're wrong. That's no sun. And "They" are not coming back. What's coming is a shot from a death ray fired, by mistake, from a star system 45 LY away…
