It depends on what we call "creative".

Maistro has macgyvered many solutions to very complex situations with duct tape and a multi-tool.

Dr. Apocalypse is seen as a creative guy because the "wacky stories" he's always telling.

Laura is said to be a really good painter. A broad brush painter, Bob Ross (on drugs) style.

And the medical regenerator is very creative with his healing/rebuilding techniques…>=)

Yep. I love to use metaphors. Curiously, I use them more in the narration than in the actual dialogue. But some characters, like Laura, use them frequently. She likes to compare Our Hero to ridiculous things things, as in "This idiot's louder than an exploding orchestra", or "that dumbass eats more than a vegan castaway" =)

More than one, and in many of my stories. Loren is non-binary and genderfluid teen, with variable preferences depending on the hour of the day and how their brain wired (literally) at the moment. Maistro is everything-sexual (as long as there's consent and of legal age). The Still Unnamed Daughter might have done some non-het experimentation. And Our Hero learned to like women's clothing and shoes…>=)

331 Ever desired a fresh start, etc.?

—Who hasn't sometimes? But this is ridiculous! I got a fresh start with a new body included! I only wanted more money and job security, and I got more money than I can spend, but security is the only thing I can't have because of this damn body and this cursed job! And and di got a better understanding of the world. So damn better that I'd like to have a lobotomy by death ray or two almost every damned day!

29 How would your MC handle finding a spider in their home?

Our Hero don't like spiders and will kill them on sight. Quickly. He doesn't fear them, either, so he'll do it with his bare hands, no matter the species, using a finger if it's a small one, or his fist, if it's something like a tarantula. Scorpions are the exception. With those he'll use either the energy sword, or throwing any heavy object at hand at the "bug". Like Laura. And yes, he did that once…>=)

Then I'd try to escape because I know they all would kill me for all the things I've made them endure. The only possible exception could be the Old Hag, but I'm not sure she would say something in my defense. I took her beautiful and beloved lake and put "a damn city over it" =-|

25 How often do your characters think of death?

More than they should but no as much as they should. All of Our Hero's team are legally dead, and all of them in fact died and were revived with the medical regenerator. They don't think much about their own death because they know 2 things:

  1. They can be revived

  2. They KNOW there's no afterlife

But they do think about other people's death. With joy if it's their targets, and with sadness if it's about everyone else's…

I don't deny myself the pleasure of watching/bingeing media of any kind when I'm writing. Not that there's many similar things to my writings. I always can stea…get inspired by those creations. Right now I'm re-watching the first seasons of Chicago Fire, an excellent source of ideas for making the characters experience unnecessary pain and suffering…=)

Imagine being left in a planet with no liquid water. You have to find a plant (?) that looks like the child of a cactus and a fever-induced eldritch abomination, which burns your skin if you touch it, open it and eat whatever the thing that's inside it to get water in your body. Then you have to run so the people (?) caring for those plants don't eat you.

Maistro experienced this once, when he tried to escape from the time-ship. He learned the lesson…

—The Latinamerican Tower Earthquake. I was 9. It's called that because the legendary Latinamerican Tower, a building that had resisted many earthquakes fell. It even resisted the return of the lake. I'd say yes. Self confidence is mandatory. Otherwise, our own self-doubts can and will stop us before writing the first word. A little arrogance helps, so we can say with confidence "I'm a writer", even to ourselves, without feeling like an imposter. Much…=)
