The 'Trolley Car Problem' never worked on me. This is probably why I didn't enjoy the movie 'KNOCK AT THE CABIN'
The choice of inaction leaves five dead and the choice of action will kill one person. That's the set-up, if you're unfamiliar.
Am I the bad guy if I decide not to take action and 'let five people die' in this choice? No, I don't believe so. However, if I take action then I am actively ending a life.
So, who's the bad guy? The psychopath who set up this death trap, obviously. 🤔
No, I don't care. This book was written a LONG time ago by idiot sheep-fuckers who didn't know where the sun went at night. The fact that you use it as your moral compass should qualify as a mental disorder, honestly. Also, what does the bible say about shellfish? What does it say about slaves? Why do you get to pick and choose what parts of the bible are important and make FUCKIN' LAWS that affect rational humans? The absolute narcissism on you people. 🙄
@jacklaridian Nice to be reassurred his ideas will be honoured but that says nothing about quality. Tall order hoping someone else can deliver another Remember It, even approximately.
I dearly hope we don't have cause to deploy that Game of Thrones Horse-drawing meme for XMen97.
Frustrating we still don't know precisely why De Mayo's been binned.
He said, 'Don't you dare break her heart.' and he was talking about Jean. This line gave me chills, because it showed so much maturity on his part. He knows his role in the triangle and he respects Logan's role there as well.
He knows losing Logan would be too much for Jean to bear and rather than be jealous of their love, his only concern is for her happiness.
#XMen97 is some of the best work #MarvelStudios has done in years. People who complain about 'comic accuracy' don't understand that what the #MCU does best is take the BEST elements of several stories to tell one cohesive story and tell it well.
“Trial of Magneto,” Lifedeath,” “Inferno,” “E is for Extinction,” “Operation: Zero Tolerance,” Fatal Attractions.” All there, & more.
@jacklaridian I definitely remember being baffled when the original X-Men cartoon blew through long-running stories like the Legacy Virus, the Age of Apocalypse, and The Phalanx Covenant in two episodes each.
Re-watching the series as an adult, I was really impressed by the economy of storytelling. Looking back, the comics told these long, meandering stories without knowing where they were going, and the TV series rolled right through to give them actual resolutions.
@Thad@jacklaridian There are advantages to letting a story become backdrop for a while, e.g the legacy virus, but the economy absolutely works for an action show like X-Men. That said, there is also too quick; the adaptation of Inferno felt very short-changed. I'd have taken another episode of that over weight-loss Mojo.
I think the BEST part of the new #XMen97 series has been how much love my favorite character has been given. Cyclops has been handled beautifully here, really showing the world why he's the leader. The writing shows the team truly understands Scott and this is EASILY the best version of him outside of the comics. (I know, it's a low bar). 😎
Me, begrudgingly watching football with my father-in-law. 🏈
Him: 'You can't call them the REDSKINS anymore because it's racist.'
Me: 'Yeah, I know. I agree with the name change.'
Him: 'Well, if it's racist, it's been racist for 100 years.'
Me: 'Yeah, it was.
Him: 'Then why did no one say anything before now?'
Me: 'Well, who did you ask?'
Him: (seethes in silence for 10 straight minutes) 🤐
If you don't know who Roger Corman is, you owe it to yourself to seek out as many of his movies as you can. Most of them are on #tubi and other free apps. His death means there are going to be marathons. Seek them out and enjoy. 😎
