I've been browsing the "For You" algo on #threads to try to find people to ask to turn on #fediverse sharing, and it's a nightmare. I don't know if they are bots or real people, but they post the dumbest shit. I don't follow anyone there so the algo probably has no idea what to give me. Perhaps nicer than #xitter but I'm not going to check.

It feels like @zuck is fucking with me. By rolling out federation, #threads becomes THE place for journalists to leave #xitter for. So of course #meta is doing everything possible to discourage conversation about the news there. It will never be the place for community without group functionality, and it won't serve influencers when people can avoid ads and algos but keep their social graph. #AttentionDemocracy

They obviously don't care about moral/ethical issues with X, but they also must not realize access to threaded replies is restricted to logged in users!

If none of fedi federated with them, wouldn't you expect them to retain their users and grow faster than the fedi does? I want to know how fedi sharing got turned on for the @potus#threads account. Basically, how is this outreach happening? In what circles are people being convinced that the decentralization of social media matters? Cause this is either a huge moment or more just nice/lucky. #SocialWeb
