Still early days with the design, but I'm working on an embedded weather app for Pedometer++ (to provide hyperlocal weather for your current location).

I've probably built 5-6 different weather apps over the years, but I'm reminded today of wonderfully unique each use case can be and so how the ideal design will necessarily vary massively.

Tiny example, for hiking it seems useful to show not only how old a forecast is but also the distance & elevation difference from your current location.

@danieldurrans same. I was looking a various self-hosted options but haven’t actually implemented any yet. https://github.com/goniszewski/grimoire could be interesting as I think there was a plan to integrate AI in some form to automatically do tagging which would be useful!

For my ( ) hobby, I catalog videos that make up online courses (most only one video, some multiple) by writing a “timeline” for each, signposting for people where to find particular items in each video. This is currently just written up in Apple Pages, exported as a PDF and shared by Dropbox link. I started a website a while ago using @django to make it more accessible and searchable but never really came up with a completely satisfactory data structure (see pic)

I’ve been looking at @wagtail as an option to improve the site to enable other content to be added as well, but I’m not sure if it’s the best fit. It has a TableBlock which could help me out though and simplify the data, or perhaps I just need to tweak my existing data structure - I haven’t put all the data in there so starting again is an option. If I can auto-generate printable/PDFs even better.

Genuine question. What's wrong with spoons? Why does my cup of tea come with a single use bamboo stick rather than a spoon? A spoon can be washed and refused hundreds of times.

Can anyone give me any recommendations for a new iron/station? I like the idea of one like BigClive has with the hot air gun so you can do shrink wrap as well, but not essential. No doubt my old crappy missing iron will turn up as soon as I get a new one!

So many people on their phones in traffic through the village today while I was doing the walk to school and back. Wondered what the procedure would be to report people but apparently you need about 2 mins worth of video which seems quite excessive when you’re walking past the traffic. Was hoping you could video them for a few seconds then pan round to the number plate!
