Anthropic released an iOS app for their Claude 3 LLM.
I’m past the stage that dismisses LLMs. Some variant will be a useful tool for me. For various tasks. Some I haven’t thought of yet. I’m currently using them as research assistants on topics I’m writing about. To see if detailed prompts (several hundred words with topic headings etc) get responses that include things I’d overlooked. I don’t use any generated text directly.
I might use Claude as a tutor for some studying I plan. #LLM
I told #copilot I wanted an ASCII art of a volvo driving in Texas. It first told me I had to sign in to create images. I told it I wasn't asking for an image, but ASCII art. It then complied with something that doesn't look like a Volvo, and definitely has nothing that even stereotypically looks Texan.
Back in 2018, Dario Amodei worked at OpenAI. And looking at one of its first A.I. models, he wondered: What would happen as you fed an artificial intelligence more and more data? He and his colleagues decided to study it, and they found that the A.I. didn’t just get better with more data; it got better exponentially.
Everyone has an opinion on AI. Some think we have it now, some say that we don't. I think we are splitting hairs. I don't think it matters if the machines are actually intelligent or not. Horses, for example, are intelligent, but their utility was eclipsed by the automotive industry. We are all horses. It doesn't matter if the machines are intelligent. #AI
