Coopnet is back online at the request of my spouse, after being down for awhile. I also have it being served up via my AREDN nodes I’ve been messing with.

So I immediately switch over to my AREDN nodes to see if I have a path to you..... rats. However, after the last club meeting, there may be some interest in expanding the AREDN network in southcentral PA.

I looked into meshtastic as well. Its all Part 15, but the speeds aren't able to support anything more than messaging. I'm going to wait and see if they can get better speeds before I start investing in it.

Central PA Repeater Association. They have a Part 15 5 GHz PtP network set up between their website that extends to Manheim (SPARC's tower site) and Red Lion.

I'm talking with the southeast PA folks about extending into southcentral PA. CPRA is looking into linking its network to AREDN, but firewalls will have to be put into place to lock out the Part 15 commercial stuff from getting onto the AREDN network.

I live just south of the airport. I'm on Limekiln Road fairly frequently.

I ran a plot from Reesers Summit to your location earlier this morning..... Too many obstacles. Manheim or Red Lion would be your best bet.

I didn't think about tunneling AREDN through the existing network. I'll mention it to the more experienced network folks in the group.

I'm hoping to lay out a plan that provides sector coverage from each of our major tower sites. .

Not really. The rockets were launched from the Wallops Island facility near Chincoteague, VA, as part of an eclipse study.

All of the NWS IEMBOT hosted at bots.krohsnest.com are back online. THE NWS Watch and Warning Bots have not been reestablished, as the NWS changed the format and the application needs to be updated.

If you do not see new updates on a bot you follow, unfollow the bot, log out and back in, and then refollow the bot.

akq is running. I've found that you may have to unfollow the bot, run a search for it (iembot_akq) and then refollow it to get the updated account.

I went into https://bots.krohsnest.com/ to verify it is running, but I cannot get the search to show me the current posts....

bots.krohsnest.com update: The attempt to use the backup database failed. I have recreated all of the bot accounts, and am slowly restoring them as I have time. Six bots have been reactivated, five are now pushing data, and the sixth requires setup from the source data supplier. @BakerRL75 @ai6yr @technodad

Still haven't gotten the bot database restored. I'm starting to have the feeling I may have to rebuild it "by hand." Thank heavens I automated the process, so it should be fairly painless except for updating all of the API tokens.

For those of you that follow the bots on bots.krohsnest.com, the server went offline after the update to Mastodon 4.2.7. I'm happy to report that the instance is back online, and the only thing left to do in the restoration is to restore the database. I hoping to have that completed by this afternoon. @ai6yr @BakerRL75

bots.krohsnest.com will be offline for a bit longer than expected. supposedly Ruby and Rails needed to be updated, and when I did so, it broke the server. I've been trying to get it back up and running for close to 8 hours now, so I'm going to go take a nap, and try again later. It may come down to reloading Mastodon and restoring the database, a job I am not looking forward to. @ai6yr @BakerRL75

TLDR: bot instance may be running.

When I went to upgrade to Mastodon 4.2.7, the system told me I needed to upgrade Ruby (Spoiler alert: I didn't need to update Ruby, it was at V3.0.2). Sooooo, I updated it...and sidekiq would not run. I upgraded, I downgraded, I upgrades Rails... nothing worked. I spent eight hours in the "command" chair trying, begging, pleading, promising new RAM and HD if it would just RUN. Finally gave up at 0130 EST and went to bed.

Got up this morning and deleted any and all ruby installations, and went back through the instructions. I installed Ruby from the Ubuntu repository and ran all of the commands to make it work. As of 1145 EST, the bot instance is back online. Fingers crossed that it starts publishing right away.

Stand by.....🤪

@ai6yr @BakerRL75 The bots instance is running. However, it is not allowing any posts. It's throwing a 500 error which I cannot seem to resolve. If I had the time to do so right now, I would wipe the whole thing, rebuild Mastodon from scratch and then reinstall the Postgres database. I'll contemplate that later tonight.
