Got to troubleshoot tomorrow. First dad says he can’t turn TV ON (Siri remote). I turn it on via my iPhone’s Apple TV remote. I look at settings to see battery status but it shows remote not connected. So I plug Siri remote to charge. Was going to try to restart it & re-pair it after. I remind him of how to use his iPhone as remote. Then he keeps calling me that he can’t turn the TV OFF. Every time I turn it OFF with my phone it comes back ON by itself shortly after. Had to unplug it!

Kind of crazy to have two separate issues after zero issues for 3 years. Wonder if either an iOS update or an LG update broke HDMI-CEC. The LG is basically a monitor, no cable here. Or could the two issues be related? Hopefully I can figure it out.

I caught the start of a nest in my engine bay. They were using the insulation from the underside of the plastic engine cover and stuffing it between the intake runners and the top of the engine.

What are people using as rodent deterrents these days?

@douglasvb @bosquebill So sorry you had to deal with this nuisance. Hopefully that is the case. I always try and look at UCIPM first to save money on stuff that probably won’t work for pests.

I wonder what is going on with the insta account. They have changed their account profile to Birds Are Real and have recently posted “Hey all— we were just joking around. Birds are real, and their existence is one of the many miracles of our universe.”. I wonder if this has anything to do with the recent fear of ?

The Solano County Department of Health and Social Services, Public Health division, in coordination with the Solano County Mosquito Abatement District (SCMAD), has confirmed the first detection of Aedes aegypti mosquito in Solano County in 2024. I was pleasantly surprised to find ’s debut “Praying With Anger” today on the @internetarchive https://archive.org/details/Praying_with_Anger_1992 I don’t know what made me think of this movie today. It had been years since I searched online for it. One glorious summer while living in a high rise as a poor student in Chicago, the cable guy must have accidentally unlocked all the channels and I remember watching this.

I have never watched a live pursuit standoff before today. But this one is in the neighborhood. Incredible to see live footage of a drone parked on hood of car to monitor suspect, another circling overhead. Suspect has gas mask. There has got to he immense pressure on LE to resolve this.

I-80 CLOSED DUE TO POLICE
ACTIVITY
Both directions of I-80 are closed at Green Valley Road/680 interchange due to a standoff with a potentially armed suspect. We are actively working to resolve this incident and will reopen lanes as soon as possible.
