Does chicken & waffles count? What about croque monsieur?

What does dragon breath smell like?

I got my hands on MPEG-V standard documents which lets me inject “SEM” (sensory effect metadata) inside .mp4 files which would let me program real world stuff on cues like lights, chair movements, water sprays, etc. So literally if I had a NAS with a hoard of movies and bought the right equipment, i could make 4DX at home....

3D Printed Eel Could Cost Less At Scale (hackaday.com)

Be it a matter of cost, principle, or just plain being landlocked, the idea of 3D printed vegan eel over the real deal is quite an attractive development. An Israeli company called Steakholder Foods has introduced this very thing — something they claim is the world’s first plant-based, printed eel.

So what? It’s not like chicken nuggets are any better.

Seems to me that they have a case for applying as a refugee.

The one thing snap does that flatpak doesn’t is provide CLI applications. But then nix also does that, so snap can go pound salt.

What non-SMS non-Apple app can I use to "text" my younger kid on their iPad

Hi! My less-than-10-year-old has their own iPad (registered under my apple id) and wants to be able to “text” with the rest of the family. Most of us are not Apple people though: Android phones, using some combo of SMS, Discord, and Signal. The little one doesn’t have a phone, so I think that prevents us from signing them...

Never cheap out on anything that goes between you and the ground. That goes for shoes, mattresses, chairs & couches, etc.

I used a Fractal Design case for a home server in the past. Pretty happy with them.

Just to clarify, the previous comment asked about benefits of XFS over ext4. But I completely agree with your reasons for choosing ext4.

Dredd and John Carter. In both cases the film was tanked by marketing (or lack thereof).

Compiler compiler (cc) -> yet another compiler compiler (yacc) -> bison (because yacc sounds like “yak”)

Less is more.

Agreed. Unlike the 80s trend of "big hair", metal haircuts these days cover pretty much the whole spectrum. Heck, I'm just looking at BTBAM and you got 5 different styles right there.

Depends on how you intend to maintain it. I started out with a Synology NAS. When that started to give out the ghost I built own so that I could have better control over the software and hardware. It's now a NAS of Theseus - all the parts (even the OS) have been replaced over time, but it's still the same "unit".

The hardest part was deciding on a case. I started with a small form factor as a preference. Nowadays I just pick what gives me good airflow and ease in replacing parts.

This is not about the content, but about the language setting on the post. If you didn't configure it on your account it is probably left as "undefined", which gets blocked on certain instances. Go to your profile, change the default language to eg English, and try then.
