@alexkidman Hmmm first hour of KOTM reminded me all the bad bits of DC or Avengers movies. Just boring fights smashing toys together with no real damage apart from cities. No actual story like the first couple. Did get interesting at end so looking forward to second half tonight.

RIP M1 MacBook Air (2020-2024) 💻

With Apple updating the MacBook Air to M3, it has discontinued the M1 MacBook Air that ushered in the era of Apple Silicon!
Having owned that Air, I can wholeheartedly say it was an absolutely phenomenal notebook & one of my favourite Macs in decades.

@BasicAppleGuy I was surprised they dumped the M1 Air. Something very non-Apple 2020's about letting go this older form factor so soon instead of using it to be the entry level / education machine. I still purchased a M1 Air refurb for my kid for school yesterday after the price dropped $150. She is excited for Gold - I don't think Apple realise how many girls (especially) miss the Gold / Pink option… Wifey wants a new Watch - but wants Rose Gold.

@daringfireball @gruber The other search engines might be excellent in USA. Bing, Duck Duck, etc are fine in Australia for “regular” searches, but for local results, they suck. Google has it for local search with Maps, hours, phone numbers, reviews etc. I’d assume same for most countries, but can only speak for 25 million aussies today.

@arstechnica @steveriggins Wow only the cheapest plans in Australia have data caps still. Even then its something like $10 to upgrade to unlimited. Been 5+ years since I had a capped plan.

@gruber Hmmm I guess it would need camera / origin support. F1 probably leads the way with this - all 20 cars can be followed with individual team radio audio. Imagine a baseball game where you choose camera and field mikes. 10 years time is going to be very different for sports coverage.
