I love it: deliberately removing features is now called “a bug”, re-integrating basic features like searching and handling local music libraries will take—checks notes—6 months. But after that people won’t remember that just shipped a shitty, ahm, “not quite finished” app, because, hmmm, users demand buggy shit nowadays to feel alive?

But I'm probably not the target audience any longer

Just look how responsive it is when I move the group volume slider at the bottom! It takes only a second or so for the others to follow!!

@yrochat My thoughts exactly when I saw “our X handle is…” on the slides, as if nothing happened.

Critical thinking requires a critical reflection on one’s own practices as well.

According to , the latest update to their app from hell “Added the ability to Search for content to use with an Alarm.”

Great feature if you can’t set (or even see!) alarms.

I just checked the user’s guide https://www.sonos.com/en-us/guides/sonosapp, thinking that maybe I’m just too stupid for the . Whoa! It’s crazy what features it allegedly has.

Too bad that most of the menu items supposedly under System Settings → Manage aren’t actually there (AirPlay? Alarms? Audio Compression? Date & Time?), and those that are there don’t have the claimed functionality (e.g., you can’t actually set the wifi channel in Network).

@CerstinMahlow I actually just tried deleting and reinstalling the app, which seems to have worked for some people (https://en.community.sonos.com/speakers-229128/is-it-just-me-or-is-there-no-way-to-set-alarms-in-the-new-app-6893164#post16735368?tid=6893164&fid=229128), but to no avail.

@oe_simon Nein, ich habe wirklich ein GA, und es steht auch zur verlängerung an.

Wir hatten den hauptinhaber von mir zu meiner frau gewechselt, vielleicht kann das system das nicht nachvollziehen? Oder es funktioniert nur zu bürozeiten?

@oe_simon Wir werden mal schauen. Soweit ich mich erinnere, musste bisher immer sie die heiratsurkunde hochladen, also ergäbe das sinn, dass ich es jetzt bin.

Aber dass swisspass.ch überhaupt kein abo anzeigt, finde ich doch etwas befremdlich. Gut, wurde ich erst letzte woche in der metro kontrolliert, da weiss ich immerhin, dass es tatsächlich gültig ist …

The battery and the SSD of my “mid-2013” MacBook Air are dead, and it’s just lying around here. I know that both parts could be replaced but (1) doubt that I can get them in Switzerland, and (2) I’ve got no use for it. I didn’t get rid of it today, but I guess I will next time…
