I just found out that a friend of mine who I've known since the early 1980's just passed after a reasonably long fight with pancreatic cancer (that's not long by the way). I looked at my last text with her and it was "you know the supreme Court is complicit in insurrection right?" She replied "yes" but that was at the end of February and she was already having issues with surgery and treatment.
She was a Judge, a mom and my friend and the first person I ever went out on a "real date" with.
Keep track of your people, people, you never know when they may not be there anymore.
In case you're not from 1995 The Internet I'd like to introduce you to a PC video game from LucasArts called The Dig, 16 bit so you'll be in DosBox emulator land but still, hell of a game which you can apparently play on the Way back machine;
If you're the person who designed the charting function in Excel please never tell me because I really don't want to have to come to your home and kick you in the crotch over and over and over.
That is all, thank you.
For those of you following me, I award myself one grappa glass of #Amontillado each time trump is held accountable by the justice system. It's getting light but not quickly enough, I may need a really, really good bottle for election night.
Poppies, valerian and more roses! Great light today, it's clouding up but the sunlight leaking through is an interesting color. I don't touch up any of these pics, I just take each view 20 or so times and discard all but the best.
Part of our summer is driving from Colorado to Maine and back with my kids. We usually stop at Mammoth Caves and other national parks but this year my daughter is already in Maine working for the summer so it's just me and a 17 year old and a 14 year old. I'm already catching flak from the older one for how boring it is to drive across the country and visit national parks so I thought I'd change it up and make them ride this all day on the third day of the road trip; https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RTXTbzctl0c
