I’m in the middle of planning a trip to NC to do some boat work. If this passes, they just lost six months of revenue from me. Renting yard space, purchasing tools, supplies and stores, frequenting local businesses and free publicity from the socials. I won’t be the only one either.
The internet has made a lot of people armchair experts happy to offer their perspective with a degree of certainty, without doing the work to identify gaps in their knowledge. Often the mark of genuine expertise is knowing the limitations of your knowledge....
Sometimes it’s just easier to agree with people so they shut up.
If they don’t want or want to take my input, that’s ok, I’m still getting paid. Eventually it will always come back around and that’s when my documentation and emails come into play. "I gave the solution six weeks ago, as per this email … Blah blah blah.
When that’s been the case then I am extremely direct and if that fails and it lands in my lap, the next time I’m unrelenting and will absolutely bug the living shit out the responsible parties so it doesn’t land in anyone’s lap. They very rarely step back into my office afterwards and my emails get answers.
Don’t let the swine step on you man, they’ll never stop. You’re good at what you do and that’s what you’re paid for, not to babysit and wipe asses. I mean I’m pretty sure … Enjoy the weekend.
Lolololol. Read my post history so you can feel stupid. I’m pro fucking union all the way. Go away kid ya bother me … [edit] I can’t get over how funny this is. You read … something … into my 1st post and just jumped at it. Doctors make good money, I know my dad was one, my xSIL is one, and I said how fucked up does your shit need to be that doctors have to Unionize.
That’s why you read someone’s post history, so you don’t make yourself look like a big dumb dork. Dork.
I’m thinking of picking up a used ThinkPad on eBay for cheap to serve as my daily driver. I’ll likely run LMDE, and primarily use it for web browsing, office programs, coding, and FreeCAD. Any recommendations on which model would best hit the sweet spot of capability vs price?
After having a W, T, and X versions of the 520/220 line the T580 just isn’t up to snuff. The keyboard flexes, the track pad dies/gets stuck blah blah blah. I agree on the hot, and it’s a crippled chip to boot. I get the same amount of time on the 580 (i7 1.8) with the extended pack as I do the T15g2 (i5 2.4), same OS. And the keyboard doesn’t flex. That’s what pisses me off about the 5 series. It’s a premium product for premium prices, even my ancient EEE doesn’t flex and it was paltry $300 at the time.
Exactly. These three T580s were all NIB and have no modifications other than 2nd drive. Side by each with the same pics you can see the difference between all of them. One is really really nice, one is heavy orange, the other weighted blue.
