This picture triggered the same Calvin and Hobbes memory for me

Agreed, another reason to slowly move away from Google operating systems. I’ve been slowly removing my reliance on them and this may just be the push I need for the next step.

I hope the OP will come back to explain the circumstances of this picture (e.g food based colouring, dog knocked over dyes).

Good to know that it wasn’t done personally, but we should avoid encouraging this behaviour without the full story behind it.

Based on habitat, Milky stork is more likely. Yellow-billed seems more to the African side of the world.

Got Sunkenland this sale and been playing it over the weekend. Base building survival type game, still early access but pretty fun with friends

I got this too and honestly have to say it’s not my type of game. Feels a little repetitive with no goal besides salvaging enough scrap to meet the next quota.

Maybe I’m missing out on some hidden features, but the group plays a bigger role in enjoyment than the game for me.

Recently decided to give ‘Oxygen not included’ a try. Still learning the ropes on getting basics sorted out and what is the best path for research.

How do you find the overall quality of the game? I thought it was cute and in general feels a little easier than Mario Bros Deluxe.

Then again I’m only at the initial stages, keep getting sidetracked by other stuff.

Very cool that they’re comfortable enough to get close to you. I’m not from the US but Grey Jay seems like a pretty good estimate

Recommend a game for me to play with my partner

My partner and I occasionally play games together, but they pretty much only play word puzzle games on their own. I’m not very good at word games though, and they don’t have very good spatial skills, so we frequently find ourselves mismatched. We have a switch and a single decent gaming pc, and a pretty old laptop....

A lot of people have mentioned It takes Two, which really is great and you get to try many different mechanics.

You can also check out Fling or Keywe on steam. Only 2 players max (as compared to 4 players on Overcooked or Plate Up), but less complicated controls. Bread & Fred is another I’ve been meaning to check out too.

Unrailed has simple controls but more objectives to accomplish, and Out Of Space is similar to Overcooked but not in a cooking setting.

Edit: Didn’t realise I used a shortened name. Fling refers to ‘Fling to the Finish’

[QUESTION] What is your favorite cut of steak and what's your go-to cooking method?

I tend to go for a NY strip 9/10 times when I’m buying steaks, unless there’s some good deal on something else. Or I’ll go to Costco and get a big roast and cut steaks out of it. I’m not super picky these days because I always sous vide and torch my steaks and they come out so nice no matter what the cut. Salt and pepper...

Similar to other replies, also dry-brine and reverse sear for a medium rare steak. But I usually got for chuckeye roll because it has a stronger flavour and is cheaper.

I can get a 400g steak for about $10 or less, feeds 2 with sides. A cheap luxurious dinner.

What a great shot, the icicles are almost prettier than the bird. Almost.

Same, it seems they rolled it out for almost everywhere except Asia. I left some feedback and hope they’ll be adding other countries in time

Definitely boring if you just eat boiled chicken and plain rice. Check the recipe for hainanese chicken rice, a few additional steps but tastes completely different.

Great Kiskadee in Louisiana - Range Expansion Question (lemmy.world)

I saw a pair of Great Kiskadee in south-central Louisiana today at White Lake Wetland Conservation Area. This pair has been here for at least a few years and it looks like they were gathering nest material this morning. This species is considered rare in Louisiana but with increasing sightings in the last few years. Is this...

Nice find! We can only hope they are recovering/expanding, rather than being driven out of their natural habitats

The shape of the beak actually looks like the finch family. I looked through common birds of Armenia in Merlin, and Pale Rockfinch seems like a possible choice.

Hope there are experienced birders from your area who can answer this confidently
