@ehyde @villainousfriend @geraineon oooof, yeah. I was just thinking about this last night, when I spotted a particular username on DW and felt myself tensing up without realizing. Four years later! It was such a shitty, toxic space, and it felt even worse because with covid lockdowns, it was one of the few spaces left I could socialize in. I wish this hadn't been such a common fandom experience.

My goal this year: write a minimum of one sentence every day. Plod toward a zero draft of the Eternal WIP. Persistence hunt that motherfucker.

To that end, I wrote a grand total of 81 words yesterday, but by god I wrote something on Day One and I'm gonna write something on Days 2-30, too

Folks working in and :
I have some small books that have a musty, mold like smell. There is no visible mold.
I'd like to try and get rid of the scent, they scan and shelve them all in sealed plastic containers.

My current idea is baking soda in a sealed container, put the book(s) in for up to 7 days.

Is this viable, or is some sort of other option better? Mini ozone generator? Some other powder to remove scents? Active carbon?

Been testing the webapp as my new Mastodon interface, and I really enjoy it a lot! I wasn't sure I would like how it separated out reboosts into their own little carousel, but it's proven super-helpful for keeping up with everybody. And I can pin hashtags and other public timelines without clogging up my home feed!

@bluedreaming Yeah, I'm not sure how to make replies default to "unlisted" rather than "public," but I also haven't poked around in the settings too much yet. Hopefully there's a switch that can be flipped somewhere! If I find it, I'll let you know.

@pearwaldorf Yeah, that's fair re: the boost carousel! For me, grouping them all together in little 10-15 post clusters has helped me pay MORE attention, weirdly; I think it's because they're being pulled out and highlighted on my tl rather than blending in with everything else.

(the emoji picker is definitely busted on my instance too though lol OH WELL)
