Guitar Pedal (github.com)

For the past few days I’ve been working on a 3-D printable footpedal potentiometer to be used in a guitar pedal. It is a parametric model in FreeCAD. It has a top and bottom that hinge together, with a potentiometer that is coaxial with the hinge so that when the pedal is pressed, the potentiometer is rotated....

She will say anything to stay in the news. Her big mouth, and the media’s reporting on it, is the only way she remains relevant.

Trump's lawyers realize their legal argument "ain't working": Ex-RNC chair (www.newsweek.com)

Former President Donald Trump’s legal team may need to come up with a more “creative argument” in defending him as their legal one “ain’t working,” former Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman Michael Steele said on Saturday....

profdc9,

They’re just making their argument to the wrong people. Trump’s Supreme Court appointees will be more sympathetic.

Lack of sleep can make you do weird things. It’s not keeping anyone wake, it’s not hurting you or anyone. Enjoy your tea.

profdc9,

In other news, 1600 millionaires have made significant donations to their Congressmen and paid lobbyists. Expect a new “The IRS is evil” campaign soon.

profdc9,

It doesn’t seem like we’ve learned much about firearm safety since the first Crow.

He’s 100% committed to getting the Presidency to extricate himself from his situation, and using that office to keep himself out of the reach of justice.

profdc9,

Next we can bring back blood money. If you’re wealthy, avoid that inconvenient jail time by writing a check! We can make murder another one of those crimes for everyone but the rich.

Now that Thomas’s image can not get any worse, he’s just going to become more overt about trying to destroy the US government from the bench. That’s all that will happen.

profdc9,

That’s ok. Just put up some more red light cameras and send out the Lincoln Park Pirates and that budget hole will be filled in no time.

Wait, Interstellar wasn’t a documentary?

The tragedy is that Tesla could probably be using these resources on useful innovations that would help electric vehicle adoption and reduce their environmental impact rather than making this Road Warrior reject.

    profdc9,

Unfortunately, people who grow up in racist groups also tend to be racist. Slavery used to be considered normal and justified for various reasons. For many, killing someone who has a religion or belief different than you is ok. I am not advocating for moral relativism, just pointing out that a computer learns what is or is not moral in the same way that humans do, from other humans.

Now Chandrayaan-3 has to send back some of that sweet, sweet science. And maybe some vindaloo.

Don’t worry, destroying a McLaren is all part of Musk’s 4-D chess game. Just you wait and see.

    profdc9,

Trump’s only chance is probably to foul the magisterial process as much as possible to prevent it from holding him accountable. It’s worked for him so far, and even if he is taken into custody, that will only increase his popularity and stoke outrage. There’s nothing for him to lose.

They should have the camera looking out the cockpit window slowly point downwards toward the ground as the camera is flying along.

Fund these companies and take them public before the hype train derails. The VCs smell a greater fool, and it’s the IPO investor.

What is the worst US state to live in generally?

I’m aware that, at the moment, Florida is deemed unsafe for people to travel to, but what is generally the worst state to live in? Factors such as education, religious extremism, crime, cost of food, healthcare, and access to other resources are relevant. Will “Deep South” states remain one of the worst places to live in...

Well, Bill Bryson might be right. But have you seen the rest of the world? Boring can be good. Be careful what you ask for.

    profdc9,

I enjoyed it and I give J. Michael Straczyinski a lot of credit for being able to conceive and tell a good story even with some difficult production and casting problems. While the plot can be simplistic there are not a lot of loose threads and there are many interesting characters. I think for the time (the 1990s) it was incredibly ambitious before streaming made more dedicated audience participation possible.
