rakyat,

I suspect most economy rice shops have a scale on standby in case got difficult customers like this haha

rakyat,

And that was exactly when the line got crossed

rakyat,

Then I suppose… next year it’ll be 4.2 minutes

rakyat,

I won’t call it a redemption arc, but like Gollum tagging along with Frodo and Sam, I guess he will be tagging along… for now.

rakyat,

Religious heritage site aside, a lot of amazing plants and animals are only found on a single limestone cliff or a few. Some stunning plants that are only known from one or two limestone hills in Malaysia are like Begonia amphioxus and Nepenthes campanulata. Just imagine all the species that were destroyed before they were even discovered.

rakyat,

I’ve been looking at local batik shirts on shopee and they have batik patterns based on buildings, oyster shells and kuih lol.

rakyat,

For Malaysian focus, it can be a bit hard to draw the lines though, like if I post a photo of a cat do I need to clarify that the cat photo is taken in Malaysia? I think we can define it as a community by Malaysians for Malaysians and anyone who’s interested in Malaysia (which is pretty much the status quo). As long as the topics are about Malaysia or of interest to Malaysians, not too terbabas like posting about US politics then ok kot

rakyat,

I take the train instead of drive to office and still the long commute (3-4 hours per day) is burning me out. All for jobs that not only can be fully done at home, but also can be done much more efficiently from home because all the chatter and distractions in office. Luckily managed to push for WFH on certain days of the week, so that I can work more on WFH days because I can’t get shit done on WFO days.

rakyat,

Yeah I drove to work from Kajang to KL every day many years ago. Definitely prefer taking the train. But it’s still a needless waste of time and energy.

rakyat,

That’s still small case compared to some others. One of my friends used to drive from Nilai to PJ every day.

And I got a colleague who travels from Pulau Ketam to KL every day…

Escalator to hell

Some of the lights at Muzium Negara MRT station were not working earlier today, so the escalator looked like this.

@cafe

An escalator leading towards darkness, illuminated by eerie red indicator lights on both sides.

rakyat,

Apologies, looks like video cross posting from Mastodon to Lemmy is not working. Here’s the link to the post with video:

rakyat,

Cue ex machina dance scene

rakyat,

PAS may humiliate them but in the end PN knows that they need to pretend to be a multicultural coalition - not because they care about non-Malay voters but because they need to convince Malay voters that they are not really racists if they vote for PN. (The same reason PAS didn’t win big until they have Muhyiddin to offer a “moderate” cover)

So Gerakan has quite a bit of leverage in PN… as compared to in PH where they are even less welcome than Muda or PSM.

Sisters’ Curry Laksa at SEA Park, PJ

@food

rakyat,

They still have lots of cockles. Nowadays curry laksa is expensive everywhere, though usually the portion is also much bigger.

Kajang’s famous spicy pepper soup for

@food

rakyat,

If you got extra time for some extra meals, there’s also a well-known fried chicken nasi lemak shop nearby (hidden inside the new village)! And might as well come over to Kajang town for the mamak cendol stall inside the Chinese temple and satay :D
