    Regardless of today's decisions the scotus is a corrupt body that sits atop a corrupt judicial system that causes untold harm. From yesterdays strike down of affirmative action to the strike down of Roe to the Dred Scott decision, the judicial body is a legacy of oppression and genocide.

    Don't confuse my interest in wanting to understand the inner workings of the power of the state with any type of respect for them.

    The best outcomes we can hope for from them is that they decide to withhold judgement at this time.

    This is federal, so it will override state laws. So, if you go to a business (lets say a pharmacy) they can't deny you service because you are queer ... BUT they could perhaps deny you HRT because that action is compelling them to violate their beliefs.

    All based on a lie. Pure Christian victimhood narrative. Just like yesterdays strike down of AA was pure white victimhood narrative.

    we should stop using the term "self host". It encourages making services that are only used individually. Not everyone can host their own services, and those capable of hosting should figure out ways to share services with others.

    Other options might be:

    • community host
    • mutual host
    • affinity host
    • friendly host
    • neighbor host

    I hate mastos CWs; I love mastos CWs.

    I hate that the label frames the use of the feature as only being for a Trigger Warning. Then we all get in debates over if something needs a trigger warning, and the answer to that is always "depends on place and context."

    But the feature has so many others uses that I love:

    • Subject/body: posting in a folded subject/body (like this post) can be really nice and format the message as an at a glance invite to learn more
    • Spoilers: sometimes you don't want to spoil the show, and this can help with that
    • jokes/punch-lines: you can hide punch lines for comedic effect
    • thread labels: creates a top level label for posts in a branching thread to help add context

    and a lot more. The cultural question of when and how to use trigger warnings are general warnings over content are good to have, but when it becomes trying to nail down a static policy it turns into something I'm not interested in because it ignores all of the other uses for having such a field.

    (this is apropos of nothing, I just wanted ramble)

    getting really tired of the response to bigots, where they film some clip of queer people acting non-puritanical in some way, by liberals being that queers need to "think of the optics".

    1. bigots will make "the optics" negative no matter what happens, including just lying

    2. optics policing to ensure that queers are remanded to only puritanical public expression is just as bad as what the bigots are doing

    OK, I've used KDE for awhile. With my custom plugins it's usable and it's now been stable for awhile (even under wayland).

    I don't really want to follow the hype to hyperland. Maybe it's time to use XFCE for awhile.
