iCloud turns 12 today!

I was part of the MobileMe/iCloud transition back then while working at Apple, and vividly recall internal talk about the huge, risky challenge it was to launch a free service with 5GB for every user. From 0 to millions of users in a day.

I don’t think many realized the scale of the launch at the time. Apple sold 72.3 million iPhones in 2011 alone.

Um, what? Elon Musk is floating the idea of removing the Like and Retweet buttons from the timeline? I assume clicking on a post will still give you the option (assuming you're still using Twitter that is), but this seems like a really bad idea. Do we need to look at upgrading our hardware again, or is this one of the weird policy decisions people will shrug off? It feels like Musk is just shutting Twitter down one feature at a time.

Now the 15 Pro has a stateless silent mode toggle, it's available to use with shortcuts.

Something I've wanted for years was to have silent mode toggle based on connecting to CarPlay, as I often miss texts when driving. It was super easy to set it up and works really well!

Good news for upcoming sci-fi movies!

Gareth Edwards' The Creator (in theaters, Sept. 29) and the alien invasion film No One Will Save You (Hulu/D+, Sept. 22) have both had their premieres, and the early feedback is good!

Let's hope this translates into success.
