Totally had the wrong speed settings for this photo (the bird in flight), but kinda like the result al the same.

This is a shot from the side of a lake looking back toward the pathway where some long grasses interrupt the view.

He is too friendly to my taste, wants to come closer, always hanging around, i think some neighbour is feeding this buck and he does not want to leave now...my transplants are in danger, so far he is not eating too much besides roses, snowberries and wild strawberry leaves, but that can change later in the season...and i am worried...
i think we have to get a dog, something for natural territorial defense...

Last year, we learned our porcupines do not like getting their paws wet. So my wife built them a little stone bridge to cross the 1 inch deep trench 🥹 They seem to have mastered it! Anything to not get wet. Even if they’re already soaked from the pouring rain…

17 second, black and white trailcam footage of a beefy porcupine lumbering down an old path to an 8 inch wide trench that carries water from the forest to the brook. It approaches cautiously, check the stones that have been placed as a bridge, and slowly walks across. The video is taken in the middle of the night and it is raining.

OH heard a lot of grunting outside our kitchen window in the middle of the night. On looking to see, turns out it was two hedgehogs "very much in love" 😄💕

Seems there might be a family of hedgehogs soon 🤗

United Utilities failed to stop pumping millions of litres of sewage into Lake Windermere for 10 hrs in February & didn't report it to the Environment Agency until 13 hours after it started.

The pumping station is only permitted to discharge untreated sewage into Windermere if it’s overwhelmed by rainfall or snowmelt.

And therein lies the bigger problem: allowing privatised water companies to pump raw sewage into waterways & lakes at all.

This article from April 3rd this year shows the threat to Windermere from raw sewage. At the time this article was written we didn't know about the massive February discharge of raw sewage which has just come to light.
