I still think about the main idea of windows phone, which was that it was centered the people you talk to the most, and it would eg serve you updates from that person no matter whether sms/fb/ig or whatever.
@samvarma I frequently think back to what WebOS was able to do with the messaging app in Palm Pre
All you did was connect the messaging app to services and then sent messages to people who were on your contact list. The app figured it out and sent your messages over the proper service!
There hadn't been something that worked that well before. There hasn't been since, sadly.
@yakkoj this is one of the reasons why I hope that all the antitrust action against Apple helps to aerate the soil and hopefully allow a few other things to flourish; maybe give us some new paradigms for how to use our devices
Pretty fascinating to read as this stuff becomes more relevant to the work I'm doing, especially this feature film #FCPX workflow created by the filmmakers:
Great article that helped me solidify my understanding of why I might want to record at 24/96 at a minimum. 24/48 is the standard for video, but when recording artistic material I might even go 32/192. Storage/processing isn't as much of a concern these days, and even the baby audio interfaces can do that...
@samvarma@simoncampbell these kinds of articles always rely on feelings and frankly placebo. I can guarantee these people couldn’t feel “air” in a double blind test. #MusicProduction
If this is extremely your shit, allow me to recommend "The Soundtrack Show", one of the most fascinating podcasts I have ever come across, and specifically this episode: https://overcast.fm/+MBtti_Sc8
L O L when it comes to light you know it's probably been going on for years already. I'm sure we have all had experiences where we know for certain there's no other way there could be a connection other than the devices are listening.
