Tonight once the sun goes down, I'm gonna try to remember to go out and count how many stars are visible. Because yes, there is so much light pollution here that even if it's a clear night, the stars will be very countable.

My estimate is six. I'll update yall later! And I'd love to hear from you, are the stars in your sky countable?

Sitting #kingfisher - based on my mother's photos. I rather exactly "copied" its pose.
For some reason pattern on its head and wings looks like the sky for me. Not sure if it was so visible on original photos.

Isn't this a crime? In Florida you're definitley not allowed to just kill your dog, even if it is YOUR dog and no matter how it's behaving. Even if it obviously has rabies, you still have to call animal control. So.. how has she not been arrested for admitting to this crime?

I also don't know how she skipped right over the option of rehoming the animal with someone who can provide a better environment for all that energy. Nope, straight to murder. Makes me wonder how she punishes her kids.

And apparently not only is it LEGAL to kill a dog that is harassing poultry, a person can be FINED for "harboring" an animal that does so.

Holy fuck, shame on you South Dakota!

(Like yes, protect poultry too, but this is not the way!)

Per the page I linked, the law states "any person."

Title 40. Animals and Livestock. Chapter 40-34. Dog Licenses and Regulation.
40-34-1. Killing of dog lawful when disturbing domestic animals.

It shall be lawful for any person to kill any dog found chasing, worrying, injuring, or killing poultry or domestic animals except on the premises of the owners of said dog or dogs.

It always amazes me how many people in cities drive big ass vehicles. I drive an SUV. I live on a dirt road, drive dirt roads the majority of the time, and have to have four wheel drive to get up the road in the winter. What is their excuse?

Nobody should be using "AI" to answer factual questions. We know it's bad at that.

It's good at fixing input though. Like "find the bug in this code" or "reword this email to sound more professional and less angry."

All these people tryna use a screwdriver as a hammer and wonder why things fall apart..

You're giving it very constrained inputs and can easily test the output. Is the bug gone?

I'm no software engineer but I've spoken with a couple of people who have found it useful to track down stuff a lot faster than they can do it on their own.

Please can you help me understand, as a non-coder? I know html. If I have a text file with 1000 lines and ask AI to find the bug and tell me what lines it changed, could I not then just copy those specific lines from its output into my text file and test the page? Then I could see if the change was made as desired, and know the remaining html stayed untouched, since I only pasted specific lines? And if it's not a good fix, it'll be obvious quickly?

Ugh. I worked around 30% more last year and drove around 500 extra miles last year for just under $1k extra gross. So my adjusted gross dropped from $5k to $2k. Lovely take home pay for a job that's absolutely not a scam.

For anyone who needs help with these sayings:

Bit the bullet = did something you weren't looking forward to doing. Originated from biting on a bullet to keep from cracking your teeth while having limbs amputated without anesthetic.

Dodged a bullet = a bad thing that could've happened, didn't. As in, you didn't get shot.

I just got an email from someone using the wrong phrase so I hope this helps.

I hate the Echo Show so much. I just wanted a device to control my TV and lights via voice with a clock. But it's constantly showing me unwanted features and recently started showing ads instead of a clock. I'm never buying an Amazon device again. Hope the ad revenue is worth it.

I really got sick of how often the echo dot would try to offer up extra crap when I asked a question. "By the way, did you know..." "shut UP, Alexa!"

The dot eventually forgot what "next, skip, and stop" do, so I'd have to unplug it to get it to stop playing music or news.

It's in a drawer now. And I too will never buy another amazon device.

I've attempted to tackle this project a couple times, but this is the first time I'm somewhat satisfied with the result. I used the video linked below as tutorial. My first time #watercolor #painting without a line drawing as a guide. This will be part of a series; I wonder if anyone will recognize what I'm going for? It'll hopefully be obvious when I finish more in the series.

Here's my take on book 4: The Shadow Rising. I definitely wanted to include the twisted redstone door frame and the glass columns. Initially I tried using a human silhouette as the shadow but it didn't look right. Then I got the idea of a black sun rising. I was also initially gonna have one of the glass columns be the "4" but I think it looks better with just four columns. What do you think?

Book 6 of #TheWheelOfTime is Lord of Chaos. I struggled with this painting and feel this is my worst in the series so far, both in concept and execution. Hoping to do much better when I redo this project in the future. #WheelOfTime #watercolor #painting
