Hearing what wounds neglect or conditional love has ripped into people's souls breaks my heart.

Even with all the insecurities, self-doubt and imposter syndrome (not to mention RSD!) I only slowly start to realize what a gift this completely unconditional love was, that my parents gave me 😔

My mother was a complex and complicated person, but so am I. But I never felt not loved because of something I was, was not or didn't achieve.

I was the only child. The prince (or better princess, sorry mom and dad) they waited and longed for for so long. But I wasn't spoiled (well, maybe a wee bit).

Something I tell my software students a lot when they’re looking for jobs is to remember that a shockingly large number of job descriptions are written by people in HR who have next to zero understanding of the industry, the specific team, or the business need.

All they’ve got to work with is fragments they’ve heard without comprehension, coming to them through a terrible game of corporate telephone.

@grimalkina @inthehands We should invite you for a talk or something. Honestly we do way better than most large industry organizations.

And we write (and optimize) our own job descriptions. I never would a non-technical person let do that. Results are terrible and it's unfair to the HR people.

The way HR works in all companies where I've been a hiring manager is that I do a lot of the actual "work" and get an HR assistant to do legal stuff etc. for me.

Writing posts is my job. Talking to candidates is, too. Working on the process is and I expect HR to follow up with what I tell them I need.

    From a trans person who's egg cracked with 55 and is now two years (that's not long!) in transition, let me tell you this:

    If you are doubting, if it's worth it, yes!
    If you're doubting if it is too late, no it isn't!
    If you're doubting if it is possible, yes!
    If you think you will be an ugly trans man/woman/nonbinary person, no! You have no idea how much you will be shining!

    Your life will change quite a lot. Some people will leave your life, but the important ones will stay. And some of the most important ones will only then enter your life. That's what happened to me.

    You will be SURPRISED, who will turn out to be with you, that you would have imagined being the first one to go.

    Give them a chance to get to know the real you. Give US account chance to get to know you. 🫂💕

    The following is not a complaint, but more of an observation.

    I often have the feeling that people deliberately keep me at a distance. Not in bad intent, just because they are annoyed of me (my hypothesis). Especially people I personally find interesting (to avoid the term 'attractive', because it would make things even more embarrassing).

    I guess it's an unfortunate combination of rejection sensitivity dysphoria and perception problems (which often is a result of RSD).

    Nevertheless it hurts and feels silly at the same time. I don't actually know where I wanted to go with this rambling 😬

    There's only a faint memory of the person I was before transitioning. It's not that long ago, but so much has changed. And so much of the pre-me was a very thin cover reacting to the world. Just reacting, nearly never acting.

    And what was under that cover? I literally don't know. I never looked inside. Maybe the person who I am today. Probably not someone totally different.

    I don't remember much. What I sometimes remember are emotions, but never situations or actions.

    I had this sort of erased memory for as long as I can remember. This is now different. I remember so much about the last two years!

    Today I subscribed for a "Deutschland Ticket". It allows you to use any public transport (except long distance trains) without extra charge in second class.

    I'm not really an avid bus user yet, but I'm absolutely annoyed by using the car all the time.

    I will probably not use it on trains, because until exclusively use the first class. And I have a 50% discount card for that too.

    This has nothing to do with me being snobbish, I just recently understood that it's connected to my neurospiciness and avoid meltdowns due to overstimulation.

    This doesn't come as a total surprise, but I'm very happy for them!

    I just blurted it out everywhere as soon as I knew myself. This probably is not a good idea for most people 😅
