sebastiancarlos,

learnbyexample has very nice blogposts (or rather books) on GNU and sysadmin topics, samwho.dev has great visualisations on compsci concepts

sebastiancarlos,

Very nice and nonstandard answer, most appreciated.

Anyone else adding "verbose", "interactive" and "recursive" to basic file commands?

As a person raised by GUIs, an extra visual confirmation and an extra prompt is a nice touch. I also like when the system says “Oh, is that a directory? No problem, I’ll give you the usual treatment.” You know what I mean?...

sebastiancarlos,

shouldn’t be a problem because scripts are run interactively and my .bashrc wouldn’t be read, right?

sebastiancarlos,

That's a good point. If I need something like a bash script I tend to stick to bash features as much as possible.

sebastiancarlos,

Sweet

sebastiancarlos,

fwiw I opened an issue on the vs code repo. It already got a downvote and the issue was reassigned from one maintainer to another. Popcorn is tightly secured.

sebastiancarlos,

Good point. I actually thing that having if x == true is bad practice anyway because it's redundant, so showing a toggle in that context would have the benefit of highlighting that something's wrong.

sebastiancarlos,

brown drinks are the best. coffee, beer, the list goes on.
