Make sure you get those WWDC wishlists in by 11:59 P.M. on June 9th so we have enough time to build everything in time for the Keynote the next morning
It’s been two years since I rejoined Apple and first joined the Notes team, and my life has changed in so many good ways since then. I'm so grateful for where I am 🥹
One thing that I still appreciate about X over mastodon is that I actually learn about real events going on. Like the fact that they're now bombing literal tents in Rafah.
@shantini This!!! The big dumb human bummer is that terrible people lock into our brains so strongly and have such an outsized presence overall. But I’m convinced they’re an incredibly minuscule percentage — way, way, way more amazing people overall.
Speaking of tech gossip sites, yall are lagging way behind Page Six / Daily Mail etc. in terms of entertainment value. The girlies are not looking for recycled dry ass takes on AI. We’re looking for tea and photos.
Also I heard that one of the tech gossip sites said Apple doesn’t make software anymore? Could someone tell my bosses so I can pivot to something else? Always wanted to get into SoC design
@shantini@airspeedswift I still remember, when I worked at a weather science company, asking one of the folks there why she used Fortran when C ran so much faster.
She said “because execution speed is of little importance, but the time I don’t have to spend debugging and dealing with all the shit Fortran protects me from is of great importance. I can write more programs in Fortran because of the work I don’t have to do.”
People who are like “I’m too old for TikTok” no you’re not. There are 100 year olds on there. And there are people of all ages in between. And it is one of the most reliable ways to get information on things the media doesn’t report on. So…stop being a cranky boomer and give it a try
