@ai6yr
I'm not glorifying such conditions, I'm suggesting not many kids these days are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to raise children. Most "starter homes" now are what two generations ago would have been considered mansions.
On Aug. 7, two days before Biden’s arrival in Utah, Craig Deleeuw Robertson posted, “I hear Biden is coming to Utah. Digging out my old ghillie suit and cleaning the dust off the M24 sniper rifle. Welcome, buffoon-in-chief!” https://www.sltrib.com/news/2023/08/10/what-we-know-about-provo-man/

The reason that so many Utahans like in so many other red states still vote for Republcians has more to do with the lies and resources the fossil fuel industry has put into demonizing Democrats than any other single reason imo.
@sltrib Republican religious freaks don't understand separation of church & state, want to indoctrinate students in THEIR "religion" even tho they themselves don't pay attention to the 10 commandments except to force them on others. 🙄🤡
@timesandseasons@sltrib electrifying a line is quite an expensive process and not always possible if tunnels weren’t designed with it in mind. There are still a lot of diesel trains out there that need decarbonisation, so this sort of thing should help
France is trialing the concept too

The law gives the speaker of the House sole discretion to fill the opening, so it's pretty much up to him. The commission is the backup part of the law only used because the main provisions were blocked by a judge, so the case could change all of this in the future. Here's the most recent on that case: https://www.sltrib.com/news/education/2023/09/12/private-medical-records/
@sltrib
Ugh. I remember reading that article and that terrible, invasive ruling by the judge.
I'll have to hope somehow there's more people than just me in #Utah that are pushing their Representatives and Senators to change the law. I know mine support changing the law, but they're Dems in the super minority. #utpol
@sltrib the only churches I've enjoyed visiting are in England, since they very sensibly allow drinking in churches and some sell cider and wine in their cafes and crypts.
Tim Ballard, founder of the anti-trafficking group Operation Underground Railroad, will speak at next month’s Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C., despite facing criminal investigations and multiple lawsuits alleging he sexually abused and assaulted a string of women. https://www.sltrib.com/news/politics/2024/01/29/tim-ballard-speak-conservative/
