People like to shit on React, and with good reason. But sometimes it feels like people forget that a lot of us get paid to write React, whether we like it or not. When working on a massive React codebase it absolutely doesn’t make sense to migrate to a new framework unless you can justify the time, effort and expense. So all these posts/blogs I’ve seen that suggest that developers are somehow making mistakes or ignorant for still using React - a lot of us don’t have a choice.

My friend told me last night that she and her husband have had abuse shouted at them from cars while cycling in our neighbourhood. They’ve been called “fucking eco warriors” and told to “get out of the road you c**ts”. It’s mind-boggling how much this borough worships cars. Though I shouldn’t be surprised because this council is actively fighting the expansion of the ULEZ in court 🙃

Is there a good free-or-cheap solution for an email inbox that’s monitored/accessed by multiple people?

We have a choir email address and a gmail account that’s fetching messages from it via POP (that’s all gmail offer) which multiple people log into with a shared login. We use gmail because it’s a familiar interface for non-technical folks - webmail less so. It’s not ideal.

We’ve tried delegating access via gmail but that’s a mixed bag and often people don’t understand how it works.

Looking at @sarajw's demo of classless (lol) CSS theming sent me down the rabbit hole of looking at <progress> and <meter> elements, which I didn't realise existed until now! Not sure the MDN article does a great job of illustrating the use of <meter> given that this is basically a masterclass in how to make your website less accessible for people not using a screenreader:
