#Agile is basically project management esotericism.

The smartest people have managed to build processes on top of it that work, the same way that some churches have worthwhile charities that do good work, but that doesn't mean the core of the methodology isn't mumbo jumbo.

looking towards adapting City of Carse for my games. I've had it for ages, but when I last checked it it didn't suit my campaign's mood.
Now I think I am going to have a look at it again.

Will have to remove the Midkemia references though.

By the way, did you know that Reymond E. Feist's Riftwar novels started out with a campaign (which crossed over with ?)

I'm staying near the airport for , and originally I was going to rent a car. But then I thought about it. I'm like 15 minutes away from the convention center. Aside from the expense of the rental, I'd need parking for 4 days for a car that's just going to sit there for 12+ hours.

I can just take the shuttle from the airport to the hotel, and take a Lyft to the convention and back. It would likely save at least a couple hundred bucks.

As someone who commutes in to the con from the burbs, yes, by all means save yourself the nightmare of finding a parking space in the mornings. It is literally the worst part of the con for me.

My wife has been putting money away to send me to this year. She just hasn't gotten the badge or hotel or anything yet. But I have zero idea of what I would actually do at GenCon. I don't know what to plan for really 😅

I was going to recommend the event catalog. Depending on what you want to do, I've found making a wishlist that schedules you back to back to back all four days, actually means you'll get about half those slots. Which leaves loads of time for walking around and seeing the sights.

Definitely plan on spending multiple hours in the dealer hall, it is mind boggling. Especially if it's your first time.

speaking about going through old RPG magazines, Dragon 63 has Gygax' review of the Conan movie (he hated it) and his promise to make into a movie like Star Wars or Raiders of the Lost Ark by 1984/85.

New live action Avatar is... Look, it's probably pretty good? I don't actually have any serious complaints.

But it also makes me remember how staggeringly good the original animated show is, at every turn, which really weirds the fun.

Just finished a rewatch of Buckaroo Banzai and wow, the future star power was off the charts.

    Yes. The panic of being laid off / unemployed completely ruined the second half of 2023 for me. Now I've got a few weeks before my start date to just cruise and relax and remember how to be myself.
