I think he's in... bad health. Really bad. Much worse than they've let on. Dementia symptoms worsening perhaps. Heart issues perhaps. I'm no doctor. But look at photos of him recently. Especially his face & eyes. Because thats where you can see it, typically, when someone is Unwell. And when their time is coming SOON.
I prefer vim as my default code & text editor. Emacs does not fit my tastes as much but I respect it
Both emacs & vim have advantages over, say, VS Code (& any other commercial GUI IDE). Among them? Less screen clutter, less resource use, (often) better reaction latency, no network need/killswitch, always free, open source, and less victim to surveillance capitalism

@synlogic You know that assuming someone’s actions based on their nationality or ethnicity is racism, right? And that a Chinese persona doesn’t mean that who is behind is not a western state actor.
There’s a lot of good code contributed to open source by Russian and Chinese developers. And many algorithms are of Russian origin.
if Antirez benefits financially from #Redis adding the commercial license version then I'm all for it. He does good quality work and gave us all a great tool FOR FREE for over a decade plus by now. He and the Redis team owe the rest of us nothing.
