This old HP is sentimental to me because it was my dad's.

He never used it much but since he passed, I've been using it as my workbench PC. I upgraded it to 16gb of RAM, added an M2 SSD and moved the OS over, installed a Zotac fanless video card, and finally today upgraded the Wi-Fi/Bluetooth card.

Note the bit driver sticking out on the right side, HP uses tamper-proof nuts.

Finally took some time to bust out the @PINE64 #pinebookpro and have some fun! I'd planned on flashing #nixos onto it, but everything I'd book from the image on my NVMe, I'd go through the whole rebuild and switch but it continued failing to boot into the new build... 🤔

Next best option, fresh install an #archlinux based system with great development record for the PBP, #manjaro , and manage everything with #nix. Turns out option #2 is still pretty awesome! 😎🤘 :manjaro: :nixos: #linux

Something unexpected came into my possession.

I happened to be browsing some local ads online this morning and found an Amiga 1000... The ORIGINAL Amiga... for sale!

£20.

It cost me £20.

After some serious cleaning, it's a thing of beauty! And it boots! No software seems to work from floppy disk but I'm just glad I get the initial boot screen.
