I can think of three features that are unique on iOS clients as far as I know: displaying alt text immediately, block everyone in a thread, and a like+boost button (someone here called it "bloost"?). Also supporting direct timelines and local-only posts on a few platforms, not sure if anyone else is doing that (I'm guessing someone is).

I'm finding the best reaction I can give to new tech right now is, "I don't care." or "I'll check it out when I feel I need to." there's very little really pushing new things in a way I'm truly interested in at the moment.

e.g: I missed the iPad event because getting up at 5AM in NZ for a product advert, for something I don't need right now, would've been a silly idea.

A lot of what Apple does, isn't motivating me like it once did. They're still the least worst option for me right now, though.

A new fediverse iOS app called fedicat @technicat (TestFlight) has a feature I’m calling “bloosts” which is a boost and a like in one button. I love it.

Now I want a “bloostmark” that boosts, likes and bookmaks a post at the same time. 😅

    The package is now filled out with most of the easily separable code, mainly extensions that let you operate in a more object oriented fashion, e.g. boost(post) and react(to: announcement, with: reaction)

    I have been getting a good laugh out of the early 2000s technology I’ve been seeing rewatching shows. We’re talking flip phones, VCR’s, payphones, etc.

    But they had a MacBook in one scene and besides it being a tiny bit thicker than I would expect, no joke I wouldn’t bat an eye if it appeared in a television show today.
