Since my photo shoot last week had me worried I took the time today to refresh my ability to walk on my pole platform heels.
Luckily it only took a few minutes until I was back in the groove (or at least felt sufficiently confident). My gait could be prettier but it will suffice for the heels class I booked.
And apparently I'm part of the group of people who get notified if there's an unexpectedly unused pole in a heels class at my pole studio.
I love that 🥰

Seeing another person with a masculine body in a corset, both of us wearing skirts, heels and red nail polish, and then being laced up by that person...
I lack the words to describe all the emotions I felt. Above all I felt joy 🥰

My wife bought alcohol based ink but forgot the alcohol based "extender".
Shops are closed now but she wanted to give the ink a try tonight. So we picked the only logical option we had available: Hand disinfectant which is 99% ethanol.
It works really well!

Yesterday, France made history. It became the first country in the world to enshrine the right to access abortion care in its constitution. The French constitution has been amended to include the "guaranteed right" to abortion. The historic vote was passed 780-72 by its parliament.

I've been sent a comic that's supposed to promote body positivity in pole dance.
It's titled "Women of all shapes and sizes can pole dance" with a man looking out of the corner saying "all shapes of men too".
Was it that hard to skip the "joke", write "people of all shapes" and be more inclusive? 🤬

Gonna share some truths that are taboo to talk about, and everyone is gonna angrily at me about (I’m going to drink this mead then have a nap, don’t bother):glasses frames are a monopoly, but you can buy pretty nice glasses from China if you have a prescription for like $20, I have like 11 - look at Vooglam ~ nobody actually gives a shit if you go to the glamorous restaurant alone, as long as you tip well and are polite - in fact you’ll get better drinks at the bar~ the secret to doing a lot of stuff as an adult, like hobbies or going places, is just asking. Nobody gives a shit if you tip well and you’re polite. You can go almost wherever. You can finger paint. Whatevs.~ life is too short for shit beer & liquor~ life is too short for shit men, love~ there will be other loves even though it seems giant ~ trans rights are human rights and I’ll officiate your wedding ~ local elections matter ~ you should be seeing a therapist~ if you haven’t worn it in two years, donate it, darling~ people at bars want to tell you about their jobs and hobbies, and they’re all interesting~ video games and D&D are real life skills~ find the fitness that you can do long term~ no fad diets~ you don’t have to know how to code or watch Star Wars to be a great IT person~ if you ever have or think you have a serious health problem in America, understand our healthcare is shit and you need to research it yourself and then get like 3 opinions minimum. Nobody will look out for you like you do.~ you should probably wear the mask~ if you have ovaries that work you can just take birth control forever and never have a period, there are some health caveats but it’s mostly sorta kinda just a stigma not to. The military does this.~ if you have ovaries that work find an gynecologist who is generally not an asshole, life is too short for checking with your nonexistent husband ~ if your doctor harps on your bmi and nothing else, then get a new doctor, before you die. Literally.~ it’s a good night if you get home safe, brush your teeth, and take an aleve~ life is too short to penny pinch instead of living, because soon we’ll be gone~ you look perfect in that outfit to everyone except you ~ life is too short for shit jobs ~ ask how other people are doing, and listen~ genuinely care about what happens to other people because it will happen to you

I thanked the owner of my pole studio for offering a class called "parent and kid yoga" instead of "mom and kid yoga".
She replied that this wording is important to her 🥰 and that they even discussed gender sensitive language in the latest trainer certification 🥰🥰
One more reason to love the sport!

It's a bit embarrassing but it took me being on the review committee of #AgileTD to realize that I can use my connections inside and outside the testing community to increase the diversity of conferences.
I've already got two amazing people excited to submit and I'm planning to extend that list.

I'm in the office for the first time this year and I'm running an experiment.
Wearing purple glitter nail polish at home gave me so much joy but I'm not there yet to do it at work. As a compromise I'm wearing a clear base and top coat to make the nails smooth and shine without being too obvious.

In preparation for our private new years party I put a clear base coat on my fingernails, black with glitter will follow today.

I love my amazing and artistically gifted wife. Not only did she paint this picture as a Christmas gift for me, it came with a voucher for either a pole showcase or the entry fee for a pole competition. 🥰

As a speaker I am so grateful for everyone who gives me feedback after a talk or workshop. The outside perspective helps to understand what worked, to do more of the good things and enables me to fix the bad stuff.
Today I got the feedback from #AgileTD and while my internal imposter struggles to accept it the data says that people liked my talk and workshop. My talk even made it to the top ten sessions this year!
