Yeah so I think a lot of iOS users have seen that Apple updated their AppStore TOS and people can upload emulators now, and it already happened. This new thing called iGBA launched on the AppStore and oh boy it is full of red flags!
I became aware of this emulator when the creator posted about it on the GBDev server. Later, I noticed a message of someone (I won't upload screenshots, I will respect people's privacy) asking where to get ROMs. I redirected him to Homebrew Hub

And I did not show him where to download licensed games.
This is when he revealed where he found the Discord server. The emulator links to it. GBDev is not iGBA support. We are not random emulator tech support and we will not provide you with licensed games.
I also saw the gbatemp thread about the emulator where people criticised it for 2 reasons:

  1. It looks like an already existing GBA emulator called GBA4iOS
  2. It has ads and trackers.

We talked on the GBDev server about this emulator and the gbatemp thread and @endrift just straight up confirmed the suspicions mentioned in the gbatemp thread. It's literally GBA4iOS. The developer likely just modified it to add ads, trackers and the GBDev link.
So Apple users, don't download this. Wait for better emulators to come out.

let's talk terrible acronyms for a sec. we've got:

OSS stands for "Open Source Software", but it also more commonly meant "my sound isn't working" back in the 2000s.

FOSS stands for "Free and Open Source Software" which is nice if you want to loop in the license enthusiasts or emphasize the value you place on your own time

FLOSS which is when you add Libre in hopes that people will think you're a harmless libertarian instead of the other thing when you're always going on about "freedoms"
