@publicvoit @dhry How is there a "great deal of vendor lock-in" with Obsidian??? At it's core Obsidian is just a client for markdown files with wikilinking... files which are portable with dozens of editors on all platforms. Orgmode, as a file format, is a lot more niche, and I would say much more of a locked-in ecosystem.

@mntmn @holo_memory @theawesomerandomness Amazing! I really appreciate the details about DE options. This reminds me of my first computer's manual (Timex Sinclair 1000). I read and referred to the TS1000 manual many times when I was a little kid learning computers. Nostalgia + Anticipation = Chills right now!!!

Anyone on here use task organization apps like motion, routine, etc to help them prioritize their workloads and life?

@ErickaSimone @mjibrower There's a paid wireless sync (e.g. to the iOS app). I think you can sync it manually over a wire too? I can't speak to calendar integration; I don't know if that's a feature or not. I just bullet journal. Ability to re-order notebook pages and to create free-form notes are the features I like. It is the best digital analogue to my disc-bound journal (perhaps similar system to what @rye mentioned).

@ErickaSimone For apps, I like ones which store in a portable format, like NotePlan or Obsidian. However I am currently doing my planning on a reMarkable eink tablet. I use my own spin on the Bullet Journal method and can sync my handwritten notes to my computer for transcription/archival. For ADHD have you seen this: https://anti-planner.com/

@enantiomer My understanding is that the intent of the Liber Resh ritual is to identify the self as/with the Sun (i.e the star in the center of your own system). Unless I'm mistaken, Planetary Hours are an earth-centric system (a flat-earth system, even), So it doesn't feel compatible to me.

@enantiomer Thanks for sharing this. I'm in a similar place with my practice. I have found over the years that my dedication waxes and wanes. Lately I've been trying to use objects in my environment at those times of day to trigger me to think of the Sun. E.g. when I see an analog clock, I should imagine the Sun symbol over it, which would remind me to think of Resh or even just to spend a moment envisioning myself on the barque and Thoth destroying whatever obstacle I have at the moment.

(please boost!) - I would like to buy a flat, key-sized, USB-C flash drive. Does anyone know a flash drive manufacturer making USB-C drives with the same form factor as this (pictured) style of Yubikey?

I decided to it from a SanDisk Dual Drive, by removing the swivel jacket and drilling through the USB Type-A connector. Seems fine in my Orbitkey.

A compact key organizer containing a house key, a thin security key, and a USB flash drive.

I should try a few different distros out on ease of install. Tangentially, is there information on the support matrix for systems? Or some boot image that can do a bunch of checks for support then do a netinstall (or have some internal heuristics to determine the best OS/DE setup to use)?

Figured this info exists somewhere.

@jalcine There is this for testing distros on PinePhone https://xnux.eu/p-boot-demo/ - surely someone has done this for desktop? When I got my Framework the support/community forum had several install guides and docs on Linux/Unix distros (e.g. what devices didn't work etc). I think my next system will be Debian, and maybe use Lix/Nix package manager for pulling shiny stuff when I need to.

What I love more than anything is when I hear about some exotic new software. Software which seems like it will solve some really irritating problem for me. And as soon as I cross the threshold into the community I witness massive online wars between factions of users and developers. And is this what it feels like to be a colonist?
