Kinda binged the 2017 spidey toon. It's good! Starts off rough as noted previously but finds its footing. Avoids the crowded lineup of ultimate. Really love its incarnation of Doc Ock. Has some good shenanigans like an arc where everyone in New York gets spider powers. Some good venom stuff. No carnage. Minimal but memorable sport jock MJ.

Anyway I liked it

Finished Ultimate Spider-Man. Its good. Nothing overly special but well animated and humorous. It got a little crowded at the end. And I think due to originating from the Ultimate label, they used designs and characters fairly different from the older spider toons. (And some MCU imports too)

Next up is the 2017 spider man toon, just called "Marvel's Spider-Man". Looks like the same company did it, but as usual with all things spidey, we're starting over yet again. Yayyyyyy.

This episode of Xmen brought up a guy named killgrave that "adopted" some mutant children and I was like ".... wait, couldn't be" and then dude says "OBEY ME" (and turns purple) and "ah, wow, ok, yep, that's him"

X-Men toon holds up decently well, i'm surprised to say.

Current complaints:

  1. Jean Grey eats dirt way, way too often. It feels intentional. Iunno. Probably not a hot take or anything.

  2. The "Xavier and Magneto stuck in the 'Savage Land'" plot is boring as fuck and just seems like an obvious attempt to remove the top level powers from the board for a season.

  3. Boilerplate grumping about time-contextual fatphobia and other such things in a show ABOUT BIGOTRY. Anyway.
