So, Eurosport featured Allen, Selby, and Brecel in the mid-session interval, but not Si? Is it because of the language barrier? If so, translators do exist! It really feels like the Chinese players getting the short end of the straw in these media situations. Reminds me a few years back where a Chinese player won a big tournament and the post-match interview was not professionally translated. Will we see this again?

Meine Mama in Deutschland kriegt keinen vierten Stich mehr, die Impfzentren sind geschlossen, die letzte sog. Spritztour war im Oktober und ihre Hausärztin findet, dass 3 Stiche (zuletzt 2021) genügen.

Zum Glück ist Wien anders: Impftermin telefonisch besorgt über 1450, heute kostenfrei und ohne Wartezeit geimpft worden. 🙏🙏🙏

@digiom 😳 Wir haben noch keinen Hausarzt nach dem Umzug (während der Pandemie) und sind jetzt effektiv auch bei 3 Impfungen am Ende von dem was man hier als sinnvoll erachtet. Vielleicht lohnt sich doch demnächst mal ein Besuch in Wien… 😂

Wow, Si Jiahui. Phenomenal performance this morning.

This will be tough for Luca Brecel to fight back. Not impossible but nearly so. Another 6:2 session and Si could even get a day off. But then Brecel is always better in the second half of a match. I’d assume to really have a chance to win, Brecel would need a 6:2 session win tonight.

Well, I guess flinging the white off the table will mean a fine for Brecel. That said, I can understand his frustration. Not getting the in-off and then being angled on the green was very unlucky.

@chrisshaw I don’t care a lot about World Snooker dampening the expression of frustration. I think it makes players more relatable. I would be furious in the same situation. 😂

@pkra Yeah, most of ARIA is “you should never need to use this and if you need to use it, you’ll know” but from experience that has not kept people from applying it anyway.

@pkra CSS WG did show their then-new process at a TPAC meeting in 2016 or so and I was immediately “yes, we need this for accessibility”. Of course nothing came out of that. Instead we’re doing XHTML again with WCAG 3. Fun!! 😂

    @aardrian I want to tear everything down. This is so useless. Nobody understands why Can I Use? is useful and beloved. (Hint: It’s because you get Yes/No answers. Not 96%. “Can I eat this?” – “96%” – “Yeah, maybe not.”)

    @aardrian Yeah. Or if there was a summary like “For most use cases the button role is well supported, just be aware of X.” But just saying X out of Y tests work is not useful. And then sell it as if they just invented sliced bread.

    @patrick_h_lauke @aardrian Yeah, that’s so much more useful. The other information that can I use has are links to tutorials, work-arounds and polyfills. So it also answers the question “it’s not supported in all browsers, what can I do to start using it now and make it work everywhere.”

    @patrick_h_lauke @aardrian A lot of that has to do with the W3C mantra of “vendor neutrality”. They are just not allowed to show preference or that one browser/screen reader/tool is better than another. That is why the “Web Accessibility Evaluation Tools List” lists everything and puts the onus on visitors to make distinction based on data. It’s essentially useless.
