Sagt mal, ist das üblich, dass bei einem Geschäftskonto die Bank neben den Kontoführungsgebühren sich $jedenFurz bezahlen lässt? Geldeingang, kostet. Geldausgang, kostet. An Konto denken, kostet.
Die Bundesregierung will gegen Einsamkeit vorgehen. Die Grundlage dafür soll das "Einsamkeitsbarometer" schaffen. Es zeigt, wer sich besonders einsam fühlt - und wie sich das durch Corona verändert hat.
Two days ago, a stone was thrown onto the window of a housing unit for people with disabilities in Mönchengladbach, Germany. The stone had “euthanasia is the solution” written on it.
It’s clearly a right-wing neo-Nazi attack, considering that the Nazis used to systematically kill disabled people which they deemed unworthy to live.
There has not been an appropriate outrage. Ableism is still very common in Germany, and the Nazi history is a reason for it.
And, to make that clear, I should have posted about it earlier, but I really expected it (apparently against my better knowledge) to be picked up by larger news media, possibly in English. That this didn’t happen is a tragedy and shows how little disabled life is valued here.
@melly_maeh observed that already yesterday, and she’s 100% right. We’re missing the mark here. We must do better.
Regarding last boost, you may recall I have warned people to be wary of any accessibility content in posts at Google’s web•dev.
My simplest example is this 1½-year-old report on an egregiously wrong tool-tips post that its author, and site editors, have chosen to simply ignore: https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/298296173
@aardrian If the date on the page wasn’t cited as March 2020, I would assumed so, too. (I am not cynical enough to think that “they” would fudge dates on AI generated content.)
Filed a bug on a pretty inacurate web·dev article today. I appreciate the drive to explain WCAG rules, but you need to be accurate. Text MUST have a 4.5:1 contrast ratio (unless >24px or bold and > 18.6px, then it MUST be 3:1). Don’t weasel word a “should” in there.
Netlify wanted to charge me $55 again (they didn't) for HTMHell. They told me that I'm using up more than 100GB of bandwidth, mostly because of the RSS feed (70GB). The file is 2.7MB uncompressed.
Is that possible? Am I doing something wrong or incredibly right? :D
@djh@joelanman@matuzo The readers should not download the RSS file tho, just see if the last modified header changed to be different from the last one, so we’re talking bytes. And for services like feedly and feedbin, it’s done centrally.
Maybe the last-modified date is borked somehow?
@baldur The article reads a little like a nothingburger… Google extracts author information but there is no evidence that it influences ranking. That’s not exactly new, since schema.org is a Google-led project which helps you to explicitly provide metadata like authors.
