In honor of the 1989 (Taylor's Version) album release today, I created wallpapers for my devices based off the official album art. And I decided to share them in case there's anyone else who may be interested in them as well!
My Mum is in the market for a new #Windows#laptop. I can't help because I only know Apple.
She's over 80, but knows her way around Word and Publisher, can do email and online shopping. Those are her main needs in a laptop.
What are your best recommendations for a machine that's easy to use, and reliable? And if you're in #Australia, let me know what stores you recommend for after sales service.
Update:
Thank you to all who commented. Mum’s new laptop is…
@ellane For just a basic laptop I'd recommend looking into the Microsoft Surface Laptop or Surface Laptop Go. I own several Surface products and they're all really well built and very reliable in my experience.
hello, very 1st post here, still figuring things out. I'm trying to get into more fediverse/activity pub related content and get a feel for how it works compared to what i'm used to
I recently bought a PocketBook to motivate myself to read more. So far, it helped alot. I startet to carry it where ever i go. The thing is, its obviously not a real book. You dont have the same experience you get if you would read a real physical book, which is a bigger problem than i thought at first.
So tell me about your thoughts about eBooks :)
While I do enjoy reading a physical book with real pages I can turn. I do prefer the convenience eBooks provide. I use both Kindle and Google Play Books, and its great cause I can just read on my phone whenever I have some time to spare, instead of always having to plan ahead and bring a book with me. And it's also had the added benefit of easier discovery of new reads and authors that I might not have come across otherwise. And I do have a Surface Duo, so I also enjoy how it does emulate that book-like feel when I open it up to read something.
@DaleRoss I've not had any issues with the Microsoft launcher either, but I'm on the stable release. I think it may just be affecting a subset of Duo users for some reason.
Microsoft, for the love of the Lord, please just let me remove the trashy "My Feed" from the Widgets Panel, I'm begging you #microsoft#windows#windows11
@guilhermedea I have heard that they are testing a toggle to turn off the MSN New Feed on the Widgets Panel in some internal builds of Windows 11, however I don't know if it will actually ship or not. Though I do know they are planning on letting you drag Widgets onto the Desktop as a new feature for Windows 12 next year.
