Casey’s expletive-laden rant continued, “You’re being duped by a bunch of grifters and billionaires who don’t give a shit about you or your family. This article says that NASA uses 15 digits after the decimal point, which I’m counting as 16 in total, since that’s how we count significant digits in scientific notation. If you round pi to 3, that’s one significant digit, and if you round it to 1, that’s zero digits....
I work in trails, like what you might walk on, and in the rare case I need pi, I use 3.14. This week, we have a meeting to talk about some things on 14 March. I will be using cornbread because I do not know how to make a pie but I will eat the pie others make. I look forward to this meeting.
The Senate approved a package of six appropriations bills ahead of a late-Friday deadline and sent it to President Joe Biden to become law after some haggling over amendments.
I both agree with you and disagree. I agree that having a long term plan (beyond one year) would be amazing, but I disagree that essential things will always be paid. That is actually true, you are right, but the problem is that these other things that are, essentially, essential, will become nonessential. They just do not get done. And both the "customers" and the employees are expected to deal with it. It is a public-private pipeline. I hate it. For openness, I am a federal employee.
This is a new group to me, but this happened recently. This photo, and its caption, features part of the Amtrak station. It was a pretty big deal here. Sorry if irrelevant.
It's true. I haven't been to Elko since before it happened, but I understand the cars are still there. I didn't mean to make it sound like it had just happened, sorry for the confusion 🙂 big deal in a small town haha. Thankfully it is just corn. And a possibly damaged bridge and track.
That is just the egg white. Like @Kolanaki said, change your temp and use some type of fat. If it happens on the lowest setting, you could have a burner issue. Or maybe you need to learn your new skillet. Perfectly acceptable 🙂
Now, you can't vote this thread up or down, and if you try to reply you'll get an error*, but like Morpheus said to the Ziononians "We are still here". I think that's pretty cool.
You know, this isn't the first time I have lost a ref to that series, and probably won't be the last. I need to work on that! I am prime age to have seen all of them, in the theater. Many years now of not getting it...
I don't get the reference, but it is kind of neat only reading /kbin posts. I feel like we have pretty good up time even if some of that uptime isn't perfect. I'm not perfect either, but I'm pretty glad to have my uptime!
This is interesting. I last rode the Southwest Chief in 2018, last minute, no problem. It was empty, ish, until somewhere in Missouri. A lot of commuters in Illinois. I had an empty seat next to me until about that time. I guess it is different now. I got on in Albuquerque.
I really like cheap stamped stainless knives. In the photo are a Viking, a Kiwi, and something unbranded. Total was $8.20 USD. They are garbage, the handles are terrible, though the ridiculously small Deba has wood scales. They sharpen beautifully....
I guess I can understand what you are saying. I have lived out of my vehicle off and on for about ten years, and having a full tine, good "chopping" knife that I can sharpen with what I might use on a shovel is really nice. I have had the same maine knife for 15 years. It is ok. I don't have to work on it much. It says "Chicago Cutlery" on it. It has been put up wet, been used in snow, and I have no money invested in it. It works great.
I also worked in a kitchen once, with really nice knives, it isn't that nice. But it was cheap. Full tine, and not that weird serrated but not serrated.
/kbin is feeling great right now
