@Nobody@Moutmout here, if you really insist and work through some red tape, they do methylphenidate, which is chemically close to meth, but those atoms make a difference: it's gentle meth 😆 i didn't like it very much. i don't wanna walk around feeling weird all the time.
@Nobody@Moutmout after all the crap that various meds caused me, i'm somewhat leaning toward just stubbornly being the way i was created, and doing my darndest to take up some space...
I refused to take the vaccine, simply because they were making claims that were clearly lies, like "we have conclusively proven that this vaccine is safe even though we created it six months ago and have no idea what it's long term effects will be".
Once somebody starts lying to me, and gaslighting me, I lose interest in their opinion REAL fast.
@Nobody@Moutmout they didn't quite take that approach here. media was full of questions about it and "we think it's the right course of action but we're not going to force you to, since it's all so new"
@Nobody@Moutmout they did put in place some rules about masks and such, but not as strict as was seen in other countries. nobody in their right mind expected you to wear a mask outdoors or in your car or anything. and if you sat down anywhere, such as at a doctor's office or a restaurant, it was acceptable to remove it.
@Nobody@Moutmout a bit into it, the mainstream media here also published some info questioning the effectiveness of facemasks. i think there was just this acceptance that we were all flying a bit blind with this.
I started out with more accurate assumptions than most, because I start from "Everything the government says is a lie, and everything it has is stolen".
@Nobody the libertarian perspective is one that is pretty remote to most Europeans. i see it a lot from Americans. it seems to have some foothold over there, but seems almost completely absent here.
@Nobody the average European voter would need an explanation to even know what it is. as i understand the US political landscape, knowing what a libertarian even is is more common there.
@Nobody here, the two main political directions are:
classical liberalism - we call this right-wing
social-democrat - we call this left-wing
most countries also have a centrist party of some kind - in Norway, they're also agrarian, so they kind of don't care about the two other directions, but fight for the rights of farmers and rural people instead
the republican party would be considered "far right" here.
@Nobody news orgs like CNN are who provide info about American politics to international press bureaus like Reuters. i'm aware that there's bias there. i've also noticed that when i read summaries of Trump speeches, he seems far crazier than when you watch recordings of what he actually said. there's a reason i don't take the news media too seriously these days, no matter whose side they're on.
@Nobody thing is that CNN International is quite a different organisation from CNN America. most of us know CNN as "24/7 news network" and when it comes to news from Europe and other countries, that's largely the purpose they serve. you don't get talking heads telling you what to think. CNN America is a different story.
@Nobody one time, i saw a live feed patched through to CNN Europe from CNN America, perhaps accidentally, and the hosts just lost it on air - the neutrality of reporting was gone and it was just a complete smearing and exaggeration of whatever the republicans did.
Not as much as you would think. The USA is MUCH more socialist than it appears.
It is hidden though. Before you get socialized healthcare here, you have to get an "insurance policy" from a government "insurance company" which is not an insurance company in any meaningful sense of the word.

We have been fighting a losing action since they replaced the Articles of Confederation with the Constitution.
The natural tendency is for government to grow and for liberty to recede.
Until the government creates so much destruction and misery that it completely collapses, and we return to a state of Nature ... which then proceeds to solve the problems that government created.
@thor There was one I almost sponsored on Kickstarter at one point. It was a digital timer you can flip over and uses LEDs like an hourglass. Kind of a cool idea, but I have a Pomodoro app I could do it with already.
@LupusGelupus people with ADHD have some difficulty prioritising and concentrating - not for lack of awareness, but because it's exhausting, so they tend to use various crutches and workarounds
@LupusGelupus people with ADHD are typically chronic procrastinators.
most if not all ADHD symptoms are things that everyone has done at one point in their life or another.
the difference is that with ADHD, it's a persistent pattern that doesn't really improve with time, despite causing major life problems for the person.
it's 80% hereditary and appears to be caused by issues with the prefrontal cortex and dopamine. it can look a lot like being a late bloomer. an extremely late bloomer. "i'm 40 and i'm worse at some things than a 12-year old is."
